The immensely anticipated Battlefield 6, the first-person shooter game that everyone has been talking about, is almost ready to be played by people all over the world. The game will be released on October 10th at 8 am PT / 11 am ET. This is a significant return of the franchise after a long hiatus during which it lost its appeal and it also sparked huge interest and heated arguments in the gamer community, as they were getting all set for the next episode of the most popular shooting game series.
And the countdown is on, isn’t it? We are really close to when Battlefield 6 will be out, and the truth is that opinions about it are divided. On the one hand, some are getting their alarm clocks ready, while on the other, some are already showing dissatisfaction with the time zones. In addition, as always, the console war has started in the replies. It’s a saga.
One gamer R2 is saying he has to have the launch at 8 AM and nothing less. I can see what he means. Waking early for a game launch is just something insane. ExoTooCrazy comes in by just stating ‘Alarm set game downloaded’. That is actually the mood. All ready and charged. No playtime.
However, there is this big issue of players tricking the system by using fake locations to get an eleven-hour head start. FarleftReddit strongly opposed that with ‘It ain’t fair’. And to be honest? He’s absolutely right. That’s a major plus and in a way, it takes away from the global launch, which is meant to create a level playing field. It’s like, what’s the use of fixing the time if some over there are just going to cheat?
Then comes Kacie cool, saying ‘Looks great. Too bad I don’t have a console’. Ouch. That’s a hard one to take. It serves as a reminder that there are still people who cannot just indulge like it is nothing in the new releases of the game. Most of the time, such a situation is very annoying to those players who are waiting for the new titles during the hype period.
Yet, the thrill of a long-awaited release is hanging in the air. TheSocialTrauma is ‘looking forwards to this’, Baseball4Ever99 is going wild with ‘WE ARE ALMOST THERE’, and TheBFPulse is promising ‘Tomorrow is going to be 🔥’. There is undoubtedly a sensational mood that the hype train has left and it is going super fast on its way.
Anyway, what did I say? Oh, the arguments. You can always count on the arguments before a great launch. There is this whole series of players going back and forth between Battlefield and Call of Duty. Sour999666 is already predicting that Battlefield 6 will be ‘dead after a month like it always is lmao’. That is quite severe criticism coming from the very start.
And then we have Edgar13 who is trying to be the reasoned voice saying that there is room for both games. ‘I see it as BF6 is my have fun mess around game and BO7 is my I’m fucking you up competitive game :)’. That is actually a pretty reasonable point taken. Why always one or the other? Gamers can play multiple shooters, it not that complicated.
Some of the replies are, however, just hilarious. XBX4LFE says they’re ‘Already playing and they locked SP till tomorrow 🤣☠️’. If that is the case, then it must be a very early access flexing. And GoatedSixteen declares this is ‘battlefield return after 10+ years’. Has it really been that long? Time flies when you’re… well, I guess playing other games.
The class system controversy has also been raised. Linkrules2716 with his cynical forecast: ’12 hours until all the people who whined about not having closed weapons do not play their class to begin with 🥀’. That is probably going to be very accurate though. Everybody wants the cool guns but no one wants to play support or medic for the first few minutes.
There have been some real comments expressing people’s grievances. liminal_god laments ‘mad I gotta wait till I get paid to play 😭’. That is the worst situation, the countdown till payday while everybody else is already enjoying the game. And Hoshi has to wait for the new Pokémon drop at GameStop which coincides with his battlefield release. The struggle is very real.
Tommy just says about the launch ‘That’s shit so beautiful’, maybe a bit poetic? in a way? while C4Dishonorable is just yelling ‘SO EXCITED DUDEEE’ which really captures the general mood.
The whole physical vs digital issue comes up again, with hatchy_xx pointing out that early access is only applicable ‘If you have a physical copy’. This is good to know for anyone trying to get a jump start.
And then there is the everlasting us vs them debate between different gaming communities. dismycol11 seems to be stirring up trouble through a number of threads where users are attacking them for allegedly being indifferent while writing long posts about how much they don’t care. A truly classic online behavior.
In the end, it does not matter if you are a diehard changeable battlefield or merely a curious player about the new entry; the Battlefield 6 launch is the next landmark in the military shooters’ timeline. After a long wait, players can finally decide if the franchise has conquered its throne again. The servers will be packed, the battle will be on, and the gaming community will be ready to have the good old days back again in that chaotic, large-scale war zone that made the series so famous. It will be chaotic, it will be noisy, and the truth is? It is most likely that it will be very fun.
