In all fairness, just PlayStation has just released one of the biggest drops in recent social media history. The tweet was attached with some sick sniper shots. The replies? Chaos, excitement, and maybe just a sprinkle of gamer skepticism for good measure.

Talk about hype! People are actually literally counting seconds. One goer called GameCentric said, “The countdown is real,” and honestly, the person speaking here also feels the same. From DANNY who is spamming the so-called heart emojis to Mark dropping his “Can’t wait!!,” everyone is feeding off the adrenaline rush from this pre-game. Has it been a minute since we had a proper Battlefield? Well, if it is after BF5, well, if we sometimes mention it… But this feels a bit different.

The tea is: not every single soul’s just blindly excited. Legit concerns are placed among the hype. Thejadefury dropped a truth bomb: “I want this to be good. I really do but the last one was such trash.” Oof. Fair. Then we got StudentLoans (lol at that username) literally pleading: “Please have a stable launch pls pls pls 🙏,” which, after some recent game launches, cough Cyberpunk cough, is absolutely justified.

Then comes the eternal debate about consoles vs. PC. Apparently, Luffygearmonger had asked, “Who plays on consoles anymore??” The responses were poetic in their own way. Viiksimursu shot back with, “Everyone who doesn’t have stronger PC than a Ps5?” And that is true. Not all can afford to drop 2 grand for a gaming rig. Ziggie backed him up with: “And the console has mouse and keyboard support, unlike the PC cheaters,” which is sadly true.”

What really has me intrigued is the huge number of people who are asking for a proper CAMPAIGN. Daniel Flores said it plainly: “Campaign please I’m tired of shooting other people I wanna kill AI.” This was followed by the composer Samantha J. Foster who was also equally enthusiastic about it: “Can’t wait to play the campaign!” That really is kind of funny considering Battlefield’s always been more of a multiplayer juggernaut, yet maybe they’re cooking something up special.

Now, the eternally alive Battlefield vs Call of Duty rivalry: User Dani declared, “Bye Bye COD!! Battlefield is back!!” plus fire emoji. Hmmm… Considering the recent seasons of Modern Warfare, the timing seems curious. Perhaps there is indeed a shift occurring in the military shooter landscape? The level destruction… from what we’ve seen — looks insane.

Witnessed sniper footage, though, is cold-blooded. User Saiyan posted more clips with the hashtag #BF6 showing off those slick sniper shenanigans that have everyone talking about potential mechanics. And Promptly AI said, “Level destruction looks amazing so far. Truly a game-changer for me if it works like it looks.” Yep, if they actually pull it off, proper Battlefield environmental destruction next-gen? That would be the end of it.

There’s some random talk about Black Pill Gaming being dead according to Platinum Sigma, for whatever that means, and Lu’Cie complaining about regional pricing for Latin America. But for the most part, it’s a blend of excitement and healthy skepticism.

What is sure is that PlayStation themselves are hyping this thing hard, so this calls for some form of content exclusivity or some sort of early access. MorganFizz even commented with enthusiasm, “Even PlayStation is hyped for bf6.” When even the platform is this hyped, you know it is going to be big.

Theme? Cautiously optimistic. People WANT this to be good. They want Battlefield to get back into its groove. They want massive maps (Skipper_PR demanded, “REAL Large maps…not medium!!!”), stable launches, and that classic sort of Battlefield magic that made BF3 and BF4 great.

The exact date is not out yet, but “not long” could range anywhere from weeks to months. But you just have this anticipation drifting in the air. Whether you’re a Master Race PC guy or a console couch gamer; on the COD side or just plain classic Battlefield, they all have their eyes pinned on this.
