There is going to be an enormous fight over the upgraded UI of “Battlefield VI,” alongside with potential tweaks to the aesthetics. The team shared their take on it in recent interviews, confirming that the UI is not hard-coded and will therefore be adjusted based on the feedback:
“It’s not a hard-coded UI, so it’s very dynamic… we can always tune those things… the tiles that you see there are constantly going to be tweaked and refined,” the devs said reassuringly for any players who spoke up to voice their concern about the existing Netflix tile layout.
Since the announcement, opinions came down hard—from criticism to hopeful statements, all passionately voiced. Guy Miranda did not hold back from specifying problems with the current UI: “Abysmal-dogshit is what the current UI is called”; calling it menus that’s running at 30FPS on Balanced 60FPS settings, among other things. People like BNuttSack just want that good, old, list UI back: “netflix or whatever the fuck look.”
Others aren’t opposed to change. RonnieClipz let out an approving but simple “W Devs,” while NupeKeem followed up with a few requests: less scrolling, more info displayed on one screen. They told the devs: “I want to look and click. Not ok and scroll and click.”
Such discussions are not new; however, it appears that the Battlefield 6 UI has set certain players off. Some players, like reece_us, state: “Those tile need to be taken down, rather than just tweaked,” while those likes of Mikhail Shevkun just say: “Tiles literally THE problem.”
The optimistic part is that, at least, the devs have their ears to the ground. All the more, Shery said to infinity Ward in light of their empty promises to change the UI.
Of course, some players just want to feel Battlefield again. Hamad put it simply: “They try so hard to make an advertisable-Netflix-ahh looking UI, but what always worked… were the fast and smooth VERTICAL UIs.”
Breaking down the complaints, there is also some room for optimism, as COD player Curtis Floyd might even give Battlefield a try for the very first time because of this kind of responsiveness.
So, what happens next? Well, the devs better put some real effort behind UI because the players want classic, tuned-up performance, and no TV app nonsense anymore. Maybe they are listening, and maybe those folks will implement something that partially restores Battlefield 6’s fanbase lost through its previous entry.
For now, we’ll keep things short with a synopsis and just wait on how much actually gets put in. One thing is certain, though-Battlefield players have never been afraid to speak out.
