Anyone else tuning an Audi R8 to S1 all the way for Forza Horizon 5? Just saw an official tweet on Forza stating how it’s “going to be a really fantastic all-rounder indeed,” and then the replies? Messy mess. Some proponents, some critics, and some just want the damn Forza aero off. Let’s dissect it.
Setting Up: S1 Class Audi R8 V10 Plus.Forza’s tweet says modding a 2016 Audi R8 V10 Plus should dominate the S1 class (PI 801-900)–their build would include twin turbo, race suspension and – gasp – the dreaded Forza aero wing. But the community? No way in hell,
One user, @Myranium_ goes straight:
“‘The only option of getting this Audi to that sharp end of S1 minus that horrid wing is ditching that almighty V10 engine. Only a few can afford that.”
Honestly? He’s right. No, sir, no “generic wing” over the sonorous V10.
Forza has built that very Racing V12 swap, honestly turning the R8 into a rocket ship. Yes, pretty good R0I but @wataridori1366 had to point out: “Performance-wise the Racing V12 is the best but the R8 does poorly because of understeer… once again Elise GT1 or MT900 GT3 vastly superior.”
At the same time, however, other user, @onlydisel would go keeping the stock engine:”I love the R8 Huracan V12… but I’d rather stick to stock engine, no Forza wing, unless it’s absolutely forced upon me.”
Forza’s vehicle recommendation created a few brave souls and for all their work towards adhering with the new setup from Forza: they dropped one word – understeer.
@gonkedd summed it all: “Tried it. Too much understeer.”
Also on point was @Lancer95th233 for dropping that meme. In fact, they did.
Among the many who according to many were in unity with the Forza community was this “Forza aero parts are”. In the words of @Cuban370z:
“Building cars without Forza aero (& without AWD swapping them too) >>>>>”
even pulled an @ashleycanttweet: “I’m not usin no forza aero lol… I just put on better tires and maybe a twin turbo.”
So with the R8 drama hot, @GR1MRACER, however, dropped this comment: “Or a 1992 GMC Typhoon is a good all-rounder for S1 Class.” Wait, how? Apparently, the Typhoon is a sleeper pick. Who knew?
Is the Audi R8 really good in S1 class? Yes. Is the best route the one that everyone knows about Forza recommended build? Debatable. The clear dichotomy in the community: some people love their V10, some want their V12, and some are screaming for both with a little customization.
@snoookeee makes a good point but with: “Bring forzamotorsport2010 Audi R8 V10; we want a newer model.” This is right. Much justifiable.
At the end of the world, tuning up in Forza Horizon 5 is a matter of choice: maximum performance-thats your incentive for the V12. Historical accuracy-intact V10, please. Hate Forza aero? Welcome to the club.Forza players are passionate about their builds. That’s for certain. Who’s gonna try making that GMC Typhoon setup?
