Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the next installment in the long-running action RPG franchise from Ubisoft. It looks particularly brutal with the Viking themes and storylines.

This series has thrived for so long and always seems to innovative at just the right times. Valhalla is a successor to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and is set in 873 AD. There is a lot of mystery around this time period, but it looks like Valhalla will peel back the curtain and give gamers a unique gameplay experience.

The game was originally set to release on November 17th, until recently when Ubisoft announced that it’s being moved up a week to coincide with the launch of the Xbox Series X. That makes a lot of sense.

There is a lot of buzz for Microsoft’s next-gen console, which features some amazing specs and an interesting PC-like appearance. Offering the game the same day the Xbox Series X comes out just gives gamers another reason to get excited about what this new story has in store.

It also is a smart strategy from Ubisoft considering the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 — one of the most anticipated RPG titles in recent years — is set to release November 19th. By getting out a little earlier than expected, Valhalla can still garner attention and get gamers’ attention despite Cyberpunk 2077 looming in the distance.

Playing Valhalla on a next-gen console sounds like an incredible experience. The gameplay seems more distinct than it has been in previous installments, featuring duel-wielding capabilities for players. They’ll take on the role of Elvor, who can be played as male or female.

Elvor can be adjusted in a lot of unique ways, from weapons to tattoos. That should add to the game’s intrigue and make players excited about taking this character out on the battlegrounds.

The game will play out in several main story quests, with additional side quests also being available. The latter has always been a great aspect of the series and there’s no reason to believe that Valhalla will be any different.

It’s the Viking themes that really stand out. There have been a lot of games to feature them over the years, but Valhalla could take the mantle in the graphic department. Trailers paint a very brutal combat system where players can decapitate their opponents with finishing sequences.

If you’ve been looking forward to this latest installment in a beloved series, you’ll be able to check it out a week earlier than originally planned and see its improved graphics on the Xbox Series X. Valhalla also will be available on the PS5, PC, and Stadia the same day.
