Assassin’s Creed Shadows has started to have a reaction with audiences after Ubisoft’s recent tweet; some were dazzled by the ally feature, while others… well, let’s just say that excitement is a scarcity. In between excitement and outright frustration dominated the mixed bag of reactions to the tweet asking which ally would save you through the week.
So, what is really going on with this ally system? Through Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the player is able to recruit various ally characters to participate in turning some assistance into the missions themselves, thereby providing a bit of strategy, and sometimes chaos, to the gameplay; it is simply not all that popular. Some are definitely refusing, with players like @xDarkWiffster saying, “I don’t even use the allies lol.” Meanwhile, @DoorJacque3701 tossed in the verbal machete: “Found no need for any of them.” Ouch.
In opposition to that, there are the players who are wholeheartedly embracing their buddies at the moment. @TheSnowmanSaint shared a screenshot of their chosen ally, saying, “Gonna be a good week then. She knows how to treat the enemy.” Whereas @ACN_Daily exclaimed, “Yagoro 😍.”
Along came the technical troubles. @Fabiatriz, who plays the game in Portuguese, encountered an ugly bug: “After I got Yagoro, the game got bugged and I can’t continue his story. I finished other missions, went back to his, and nothing. I’ll have to reload an old save because of this bug.” It’s painful, especially when you are really invested in a character’s storyline.
Then the classic gamer move hit: give us more content! @GhostRises asked what everybody was thinking: “New Game Plus any time soon?” Meanwhile, @AzzamB_ ramped up the nostalgia, begging for those E3 outfits from the Ezio Collection to finally make their way to consoles. “It’s been years.”
Thereafter, the real MVP, @Milktub69, listed some great balance suggestions, one of them being to go back to having a 100% kunai pickup rate and to tweak the “get a tool back” perk. “Consuming a kunai now for the Tools Master chest perk is diabolical,” they explained. Amen.
At the end of the day, Assassin’s Creed Shadows stir great emotion-whether for love, frustration, or just clamoring for bug fixes. And that thrill just makes the community a little more enjoyable to be part of. Players care, sometimes too much, but it’s the very passion they exhibit that keeps the game alive.
Which one did you pick? Or are you just one of those rebels that just turn a blind eye? Either way, Ubisoft has now got a three-mile long list of balancing feedback, bug fixes, and the potential addition of Ezio outfits to consider. Fingers crossed.
