Assassin’s Creed Mirage is now on Game Pass. Making this triple win moment, the Ubisoft Gamescom Sale offers up to 70% off. New Game+ was simultaneously launched for the game, so Basim’s story has never been so hypnotic to dive into, especially for first-timers or re-living the experience again.
But really, few may give a damn about it. Some cheered “nah, I’m good,” and others lamented the fact that Valhalla never had New Game+; then there is that Publisher-Launcher-for-Disdain-issue. There was also one commenter who humorously remarked that they would rather spend a million bucks on Steam than touch Ubisoft’s platform with a ten-foot pole. That hurts!
Speaking on a celebratory note, fans abound for the Mirage. It is a “great game,” according to @ThatGuyRey_, while @Redplayer09 states he is already feeling the pangs of longing for it. The atmosphere, that of Baghdad oozing with Arab culture, is decent for immersion; on the other side of things, it’s a mixed bag with complaints about bugs and lack of support (@VagnerVB). Classic Ubisoft, amirite?
Then, of course, you start getting Shadows comparisons. Some argue Mirage did better (@JOHNGARDE1), and others are just waiting for Ubisoft to get their act together and bring AC to the Switch 2 (@SnarDonKey). Oh, and let’s not forget the one guy demanding fixes for Far Cry 3 (@ManyeliMon71138)—like buddy, wrong game, but we hear you.
So what’s the verdict? If you’ve been sitting on the fence, now’s the time. The threat-free entry via Game Pass plus the sale making it a steal. Just keep expectations in check if you are hoping for flawless support. And, hey, if nothing else, you will at least finally have the opportunity to live out your assassinating dreams in the scorching heat of Baghdad. Just stick to the shadows. Or don’t. Your funeral.
Bottom line: Mirage is a solid throwback for some classic AC gameplay, and the rhetoric surrounding whether you love or hate it is chef’s kiss. Now go stab some people (virtually, please).
