With the recent slew of spicy new weapon changes for Apex Legends: Showdown, the player community finds itself in… well, no, most certainly disgruntled. Somewhere sitting between locked Hop-Ups and an Elite RE-45 Burst variant, we surely have got ourselves a meta-shift, and oh, the discontent was chaotic!
Highlights: The Elite RE-45 Burst claims notoriety for being really fast, and Locked Hop-Ups have players thinking twice on their loadout decisions, but here we are with some Apexian thoughts, as usual. Some are loving it, others are enraged, while some are actually asking Respawn Entertainment to fix the blatant issues that are plaguing the game instead of just throwing new content into the pot.
So, Dustin (@CryBagDusty), finding himself away from the whole issue due to disgust, went on to tweet, “Last warning or I’m done playing till it’s fixed,” about this weird bug with the game settings that RESET EVERY TIME you boot the game, nay? Mood. Then @ZolaRZeaR engages in 1-man warfare against crashes by swearing he will complain every single time he crashes mid-match. “I keep crashing ever since the update,” was uttered twice to make sure Respawn would take notice.
Here comes the Wildcard: The Debate. To some, led by @BiggieTroy, this is a “huge W,” and it should forever stay. Others like @anusyuxi have been pleading for a pause from Kings Canyon, “Enough of Kings Canyon please!!!” and honestly, I can definitely go with that.
What comes alongside an Apex update? Oh, quite predictable—the usual punters: cheater complaints (@OjibweTaino comparing Apex anti-cheat to Battlefield mass bans), skin requests (@X_oni_v requesting that Lifeline gets pants that weren’t so baggy), and confusion (@gusejun1 ranting away in Korean about server issues—roughly translated as “Fix your damn servers, idiots”).
Then we’ve got BirnoOCE—the man, the myth, the legend-featured in the official Apex tweet, stirring all his fans into a meltdown. “@BirnoOCE @PlayApex W Birno,” shouted @Aethexn, while @H0TSH0TFPS announced proudly, “My Goat made it.” Meanwhile, @Tacticalpasta_ is getting suspicious: “He kinda sounds like you🤔.”
But let us remember that it is a tragedy after all. Post-update, @DubzDus10 has found his Revenant prestige skin damage tracker reset to zero. “0/100k” was the lament. Brutal.
So yeah, Apex Legends: The Showdown is out there blazing hot right now. Whether players will be ready to riot or are still basking in the new content remains in the air. One thing is for sure: there’s enough feedback laid out on Respawn’s table!
JoeyOverdose had also labeled the update trailer as “The gayest video since Catalyst was announced.” Take that as you may.
Till then, watch out for all those RE-45s when you land into the Showdown….and maybe put some salve on your fingers while hoping those settings won’t disappear mid-game.
