Alienware ignited a heated debate on Twitter after posing a straightforward question. They inquired which QD-OLED monitor, the AW2725Q or the AW3225QF, is being considered. Let me assure you, the responses did not disappoint. Gamers rushed in to voice their preferences and share their wishes and concerns. Picture a whole community voting on the peak of “display flex” to END ALL DISPLAY FLEX.
Off the bat, there are gamers already flaunting their setups. “I have the AW2725Q🔥” dropped in from ESO of Hatred, and honestly, that’s a whole mood. Rogers Hogg responded with, “I have the AW3225QF. Simply amazing.” Looks like both monitors are out in the wild and users are loving them. Jonathan Romeo swung in showing love for the 2725Q, and it all feels like a cozy support group of folks who dropped way too much on monitors and want validation — and genuinely, I’m with you.
Now for the side that’s dealing with the wishlist. Max said “I wish the AW3225QF” and Darkatek71 is out trying to scrape together money to grab himself an AW2725Q. It’s that classic gamer conundrum of wanting the hottest tech while rationing the last of your food and essential budget. Then there’s Achiever Builds trying to figure out “How many likes and retweets for a laptop 🥺.” It’s funny because I also live that expectation grind life. Same, bud.
The size argument is legitimate as well. Azure jumped in with a “36-38” 4K oled” and also asked Alienware to, “Support more ultra wide’s please,” which is something I agree with because sometimes I want a screen so wide it sprawls over my entire desk. In response noys34 demanded, “Curved only ‼️,” which, I have to say, I agree with. Some people are full throttle on their curve lifestyle commitment.
As always, it’s Alienware that leaves off the pros vs cons on the tech. stunlokked brought in the concern, “every time i think of getting oled i remember the burnin issue.” which he correctly brought to the table. That’s a real concern! An OLED display looks beautiful, but the burn-in issue always haunts you, especially if you’re the type to leave your desktop running for hours with some static image. It always feels like a battle between aesthetics and functionality.
Then in response the comedic posts are just something I chuckled at. Evil Tazz stated, “Aw3225qf, to go along side the one I already have :)” which at this point is an outright display of ostentation, and gotenks1 with, “Whichever one you send me.” Is such a mood statement. And Brad Hackett also chimed in with, “The one you send me to ‘test’!” which is like, yeah Alienware, send me some gear please so I can write you a glistening review.
SpinoSpooks really hit the nail on the head when they asked, “Which one will make me better,” which, to be honest, is the question on everyone’s mind. Will a better monitor improve your K/D ratio? The answer is no, but it sure does feel like it could, and then Shadowsblight informed Spino “you just need to become a Pro like a certain Beaver Overlord! I believe in you! ;),” which is utterly perplexing. Wait, what was I saying? Oh yes, monitors.
And let’s not forget shadow.vfs who not only said, “The aw3225 which I already own 😁” but also attached a picture. Show off. Seriously though, it’s nice to see people actually using these and loving them.
So where does that leave us? Neither monitor claims a clear lead, but to me the AW3225QF seems to be the favorite. Honestly, QD-OLED is probably the most advanced display tech available, and Alienware is known to be on the cutting edge. Both displays should be incredible. QD-OLED displays are known for perfect deep black levels and incredible vibrancy.
There’s definitely a model that suits each gamer’s needs whether it’s high ranked competitive gaming with a high refresh rate or deep single player immersive worlds. Try not to check your bank account after this. Also, do put on a screensaver because you are bound to forget to change it and burn-in is a thing. Say it’s your treat to yourself. It’s fine, right?
What I find most impressive is the fervent participation of the community in debating the hardware options. It indicates how much people value technology and care about the devices they game on. Alienware created the buzz, and now I really want to change my monitor. Dang it.
