Alienware hit Twitter with one of the easiest questions ever put to the masses: Which first game shall you play on your brand-new monitor? Responses poured in and went from fairly predictable to outright crazy. Gamers logged in with their dream picks, some with maybe just the small hope of snagging some free stuff. Classic.
First came some innocent picks: Hunt Showdown and Dead By Daylight from Marie, clearly with an understanding of life with only a real 144-rate. Then came those wishing to say Call of Duty and Fortnite, of course. Joker and AchieverBuilds; the latter even cheekily suggested, “how many likes and retweets to get one?” Nice try, buddy. We see you.
Lots of weirdos were from outside the box. Jamie Moss struck again with the world’s biggest curveball. Hello Kitty Island Adventures or The Sims 4. Absolute legend move! Peter, in contrast, decided to stick to the tactical side with Ghost Recon: Wildlands, whereas LJ went heavy with mythopoetic God of War. Decisions, decisions.
Or, from the future: Venturing off with ultrawide visual delight, Stellar Blade. Promoting Doom: The Dark Ages hype, IRONxADDICT and SH1SH9 yelled into the void as though that were the only answer (Spoiler: it very well may have been).
Hey, there’s still more. Other gamers were not concerned with games, though. MadMaik accused, “everyone thinks about games but is watching YouTube.” Ouch. Truth bomb. And codename9988? Photoshop or Maschine DAW. Because productivity on a gaming monitor is a vibe too, apparently.
More genuine picks were in there. Blooming Onion Jr. is just yearning to drink in Red Dead Redemption 2 on anything better than 1080p. We feel you, boy. And Sage? Baldur’s Gate 3. Don’t need to explain. That game’s got souls.
Added in every Twitter thread, along with the “how do I get this for free crowd” moving in with the weirdest “how much for a like/retweet?” move. Bold. Risky. Maybe it’ll work? (Spoiler alert: It won’t.)
And we should also appreciate those chaotic ones. Marc_ZA_ is selecting Rust to “fck those white-out geared players.” Pure, unfiltered gamer rage. Respect.
What, as a takeaway, could one say? Gamers are all over the place with their preferences. Yet, a new monitor could rejuvenate the oldest games or simply offer a better screen to watch YouTube, either way, Alienware got people talking, so now we are daydreaming about setups.
Now, if you will excuse us, we are moving into a conversation on whether Hello Kitty Island Adventures actually slaps or if Jamie Moss is just messing with us. The world may never know!
