An artistically gifted Pokemon fan is garnering attention online for their striking artwork that depicts what a combined Charizard and Groudon would look like. Pokemon fusion fan art is a rapidly expanding subgenre, and the Pokemon fan community is unquestionably one of the most visually gifted fandoms of any pop culture. The imaginative art style allows players to conjure up magical versions of their favorite Pokemon by letting players imagine what combining their favorite Pokemon might look like.

The Pokemon franchise has long been fans’ favorite, especially Groudon and Charizard. Both animals resemble dinosaurs, enjoy volcanic activity, and are powerful. Although both are frequently the subject of fan art, Charizard continues to rank at the top of the list for official artwork, with the Special Delivery Charizard Pokemon card fetching exorbitant sums online.

The image was shared on a Pokemon subreddit by user u/HoundoomKaboom, who created the imaginative fusion of Charizard and Groudon. The creative interpretation skillfully blends each specific Pokemon’s distinguishing characteristics into a seriously terrifying hybrid. With Groudon’s limbs extended and its distinctive red-and-black color scheme added, the fusion keeps Charizard’s body profile.

Aside from the tail and neck being adorned with spikes and having fire shooting out of the rear of the spine, the wings appear to be more significant to accommodate the body’s likely increased weight.

It is unquestionably a terrifying mix but it isn’t the only ominous Pokemon pixel art fans have recently created. The fantastic yet horrifying pixel art of Groudon with a similar ominous backdrop was uploaded by another Pokemon fan on the same page. Using a similar artistic license, the fan transformed the Legendary Ground-type into a pupil-less primordial-looking version of itself, which was seen emerging from a pool of lava in a cave.

Both pixel arts include Pokemon that have been transformed into nightmare counterparts, a growing trend in the Pokemon fan art scene.
