It’s just about time to charge up your ki and take to the skies while reliving the entire Dragon Ball Z franchise through the new game Dragon Ball Z Kakarot.
With excitement at an all-time high for this action adventure RPG, Bandai Namco has been releasing more and more exciting information about what is sure to be one of its biggest releases of the year.
To that end, the developer put out a series of screenshots via the game’s official Facebook account, showcasing a number of characters from the Majin Buu saga, the final installment of Dragon Ball Z.

In these shots, we see some cooperative play, mostly between Goten and Trunks, two characters who most often fight side by side throughout both the anime series and the original manga.
We also got one of our first looks at Android 18 in action. She is one of the only female fighters in Dragon Ball Z, so it’s great to see her represented here.
Goten is the second son of Son Goku, the hero of Dragon Ball Z. He was born after the Cell saga, so he only appears in the Buu saga. He bears a striking resemblance to a younger version of his father.
Trunks is the son of Bulma and Vegeta. In the Cell Saga we meet Future Trunks, when actual Trunks is not more than an infant. In the Buu saga, Trunks is a kid and is the best friend of Goten. That is the Trunks featured in these images.
Together, the two kids are able to perform a technique called fusion, wherein they do a series of movements and combine into one fighter.
Android 18 was originally a human who was transformed into an Android by the evil Doctor Gero during the Cell Saga. Alongside her brother, Android 17, Android 18 was once one of the most powerful characters in the series.
She is best known for her brutal one-on-one battle with Vegeta, wherein she handily defeats him and breaks his arm at the finish. After the conclusion of the Cell saga, Android 18 marries Goku’s best friend Krillin, and the two are featured in a minor way throughout the Buu saga.
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot allows players to relive the epic story of Goku as never before. It combines elements of a traditional 3D fighting game with open-world RPG features to create a true one of a kind gaming experience.
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot releases on January 17, 2020 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, as well as Microsoft Windows.
