The Marvel Rivals account has announced the names of the two new characters that are going to be introduced in the sixth season of the game: Deadpool and Elsa Bloodstone. The official announcement talks about the company’s determination to have fun and to conquer their fears through these new characters. As it is a very popular hero shooter game, this is actually a big announcement since players already love the content update and it can bring the old players back thanks to the new gameplay dynamics that will eventually come along with it.
So, it is Marvel Rivals who is providing us with Season 6, huh? And the whole thing is that two new characters are joining the party: Deadpool and Elsa Bloodstone. The creators told that they were fun and had no limits, and of course, they were not taking things too seriously because Deadpool was a part of it. Which is, absolutely. Elsa will show us how to “break down our own walls” whatever that means in a game full of energy blasts shooting at Spider-Man. Sounds pretty philosophical, dude.
Anyway, customers? Not all of them are just idling. The replies to this post are completely chaotic, a beautiful mix of love, hate, and demands, and even confusion. It was as if the community had opened the announcement and wanted to have ten different arguments going on simultaneously.
Let’s go with Deadpool first. No doubt. The guy is very lively. Quite literally. A reddit user Joshua Phillips (RobDogg5) without further ado stated, “even after watching youtubers play him I still don’t get him lol.” This pretty much shows the vibe. He described the character as both fun and “overstimulating,” which might actually be the most suitable review ever. Another user, {Diáblo}, backed the devs, saying: “yes, he’s complex, and yes, he seems pretty broken right now – but that won’t last forever; you guys are very good at taking community feedback.” So, there’s still a chance for balance! But then the ‘Zombieslayer215_’s come who are pleading, “Don’t mess up Deadpool’s hitscan as you did with blade.” Ouch! That’s a pretty wicked memory.
In contrast with this, there are people on the other side who are just like… whatever? User New Comga had an argument with someone, and, at the end, it was “U don’t care bout Deadpool? 😭 gng” which is a splendid summarization of many online discussions. At the same time, others are already calling for the next characters. ‘OrangeGupps’ wants Black Cat and Rhino. ‘Cyclops’ is, as always, very enthusiastic about Cyclops. Then, there’s the… weird request from ‘AquaDefiant’ who just wrote “Shiklah mentioned” along with a picture. In case the non-comic people don’t know, that’s Deadpool’s spouse. So, um, when will the family expansion pack be available?
But wait, it just got a lot more interesting. The announcement is not just about the superheroes, but also about the state of the game. And players have OPINIONS. So many opinions. ‘Stefan Iorcic’ instantly switched to “Cool, now super buff Adam Warlock and Mantis. These two don’t look so good vs Gambit and Healpool…” It’s like the new heroes haven’t even been released yet and we are already talking about buffing the old ones! The balance issue is indeed a very long process.
Next, the players are asking for a Scarlet Witch rework. It’s not just one person – there are quite a few. ‘Sharon not so Rogers’ said, “I need a Wanda rework, come on devs.” ‘Autistic Witch’ insisted, “Devs, just please rework Wanda Maximoff to a Triple Class hero.” And ‘Jessica’ went further: “Can we get a new character called Scarlet Witch? Maybe Nexus of All Realities? Maybe Sorceress Supreme? I don’t know. I just want a new version of Wanda Maximoff (a playable one) released.” The message is quite clear; the current Wanda is not good enough for many players.
And it’s not only about the characters! Users are asking for more maps (‘BringYeBack’ just said “Cool story, now add some maps to the game”), a Mystery Heroes mode (‘Vincent’ requested it nicely), and even a Nintendo Switch 2 port (‘ЯΛI’ is being forward-thinking). In addition, there are complaints about server disconnects which leads to penalties (‘Killer808’), critiques about legendary skins being repetitive (‘Otaku Ghoul’), and requests for more classic, less “over designed tacky skins” (‘Princess Zelda’). The community also has strong opinions about other platforms, with some players on Xbox and PlayStation expressing their desires.
