EA Sports has made a substantial announcement concerning Madden 26 players and additionally informed that some players’ Superstar skills will be altered. A brief inquiry from the official Madden NFL Twitter account acted as a teaser for the fans: “Who else deserves a #Madden26 Superstar ability?” The players certainly took the opportunity to express their opinions freely. The responses turned out to be a total uproar of different views, excitement, and even confusion about which NFL stars should be getting the recognition and love in the game.
What, then, is a Superstar ability in Madden? These traits are the ones that give the respective players significant advantages on the virtual field if you are not in the franchise mode or Ultimate Team grind. You can consider them as superpowers that could possibly alter the game’s outcome. So, acquiring one is a huge deal for a player’s digital card and the community has very, very strong opinions about who is deserving.
The announcement post was pretty much a hype, just a star emoji and the title. But actually, the real action is in the comments which is now a digital battlefield. Gamers are very loud in their backing of their favorites while others are just perplexed by the present ratings.
Why not to dip into the talk? One of the most heated discussions is taking place around the QBs. A user named Improllyright23 was extremely rude, claiming “Goff a superstar but daks xfactor? Yall mfs need fired an beat tf up.” This is a highly enthusiastic reaction to the discussion of Jared Goff vs. Dak Prescott skills. It led to numerous debates, with fetchmyketchup merely stating “Dak deserved it lmao,” which indicates how divisive this issue is.
And right at that moment, the Jordan Love hype train was just starting to roll. Not you know Simba was on ninth cloud, tweeting “JORDAN LOVE SUPERSTAR YOU FINALLY KNOW BALL” all caps. The appreciation is coming from the Packers fans who are sure their QB has been overlooked by the Madden franchise in the past. It is really a nice situation.
But this is not just limited to the QBs. Defensive players are also stirring up interest and debate. TheOnly40 and JustTalkinBall, among others, are advocating for the San Francisco 49ers defenders Zach Allen and Talanoa Hufanga. JustTalkinBall even posed the accusatory question “How do Zach Allen and Hufanga still not have SS at the minimum” which is a valid inquiry taking into account their real-life performances.
User 13Fiss was discussing Byard, complaining that he is “playing at an all pro level and is an 81 with no dev thanks madden!” This is a classic complaint from the Madden community—the gap between a player’s performance on actual NFL Sundays and what his Madden rating indicates. The same cycle repeats every year without exception.
Then come the personalized requests. Fetchmyketchup is asking “Why does George Pickens not have a super star or X factor?” and iceyyxxo1 is saying “Give Kenny Moore superstar.” Nflrjay just screamed “JAYCEE HORN, TETAIROA MCMILLAN, TREVON MOEHRIG” as if he was simply reading from a shopping list. The wishes are very precise and quite passionate.
Some responses to the discussions were rather heated. There was a whole debate regarding Tyler Warren, a rookie, getting attention while other players have to “prove it longer” as per ForeverFlyT. BrianDevilish was not having this, replying “So Tyler Warren, a rookie by the way, doesn’t have to ‘prove it longer’??? K…” The drama is real, guys.
In the meantime, kxleldb made a funny remark about the Broncos defense, stating “only 9 more players on broncos defense to go” after Nik Bonitto received some acknowledgment. FreeThrowBo was just ecstatic with that specific news and tweeted “FINALLY BONITTO RESPECT” in all caps. It is the little triumphs that count.
Naturally, it is not possible to talk about Madden without some technical problems popping up. Jakedevey7 added “Can not download custom rosters on Switch 2 ‘try again later an error has occurred'” which is just the usual Madden stuff. The game has been around for how long and we are still experiencing such basic issues? Come on now.
What is intriguing, however, is that some of these debates can get quite personal. There was a back-and-forth between Kibby4117 and jwdspats13 over Drake Maye, with Kibby4117 stating “As a lifelong Patriots fan, it’s not even from a place of bias, the dude just makes so many throws look effortless.” jwdspats13 agreed.
The latest Madden 26 updates from EA Sports are also available on PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
