Nintendo’s official teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has just made public, and the entire gaming world has already gone through a galactic frenzy by this announcement. The June 2026 release of the title animation is also to be exclusive worldwide, and it has been suggested that the perfect combination of excellent cast and visual effects will give the new generation of gamers a huge and colorful experience of the game that many loved. The announcement of the film has caused a wave of discussions, and already players have started analyzing the trailer little by little while expressing and sharing their excitement, fear, and wild guesses.
The trailer is an ultimate visual treat based on the original classical appearance of the game. Mario can be seen traveling and flying in the cosmos, visiting the famous galaxies, and even spotting a glimpse of the Sand Kingdom from Super Mario Odyssey, thus, making the spectators wonder if the film could be a big celebration for all of Mario’s 3D adventures. The character from the original game who has gotten everybody talking is Rosalina, the princess of the universe. One of the users @milehighblue uploaded a single comment saying, “ROSALINA LOOKS INCREDIBLE,” and this was the feeling of many. They all agreed saying her design was just breathtaking. Another user, @MoTheStudent, referred to her hypocritical and powerful presence with the witty statement, “Rosalina straight aura farm,” which is a very clever way of saying that she looks like a royal person and very important.
On the other hand, not every one of them is applauding the movie. Some people have been complaining quite loudly while others have been silently approving the movie overall. One of the most hotly debated issues at the moment is the voice acting which has always been a point of contention. A viewer, @rell8718, voiced a very common concern saying: “Looks really good except for bowser jrs voice it’s genuinely horrible what were they thinking? Rosalinas voice is amazing though it’s probably the best voice they could have done imo.” This dichotomous viewpoint illustrates the intensity of the passion the fanbase has regarding these characters being given the right vocalizations. Another gamer, @TheElusiveEye1, went so far as to make a demand to the studio, beseeching, “Can you please tone down the generic movie orchestra and just use the original Galaxy OST? Why is the Silent Hill movie the only video game movie that made full use of its franchise’s already amazing soundtrack?” This seems like a reasonable statement, as the Galaxy soundtrack is considered legendary, and choosing to use standard cinematic music instead makes some feel that a chance has been missed.
Some hilarious and completely unexpected comments accompanied the trailer. @Buzzwole1996 was totally lost, asking, “Why the fck was the Prowler theme in this lmao,” referring to a musical moment that was quite close to the suspenseful theme from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. And @welltree_bonsai wondered if the timing of the trailer’s release was a deliberate strategy, asking, “Was it planned or coincidental to drop this the same time as the Aurora borealis event???????!!!” which is quite a wonderfully chaotic thought. However, on the other hand, the hype is already very strong for the majority of the viewers. @RokuDojo’s reaction was raw, unfiltered joy: “BROO ITS SOOO GOOD.” And @javitocg99_ simply expressed their eagerness in Spanish, “Incredible!!!!! I can’t wait to see it.”
Of course, the comment section is the only place where wildest predictions and requests for future anime moves can never end. @popochas0013 was the one who caused a frenzy in the comments section by constantly repeating “Super Smash Bros – Super Smash Bros – Super Smash Bros – Super Smash Bros PLS” which is a clear indication that he wants this film universe to be the one in which everybody’s favorite Nintendo crossover fighter exists. Another user was even sharper than anyone else, saying, “Did I see the sand kingdom from SMO???”, thus, confirming that the range of the movie would not be limited to just one game.
The debate on whether characters are likable or not and movie adaptations – past discussions that have arisen in connection with characters from other franchises – still continues, with users like @_MysticMichael and @ImHumbucker arguing over Captain Marvel’s portrayal in a completely different cinematic universe; this just shows how interconnected these nerd debates can be. One unfortunate soul, @DANNYonPC, recounted a bitter-sweet story of missing the first film due to a chaotic theater mix-up in Amsterdam and concluding, “And yes I’m still pissed even though it’s more than 2 years ago.” Well, that is something that you would not want to experience.
What does all this mean? The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be a main event for Nintendo Switch 2 and other PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
