Blizzard has released what they are calling the “Ultimate Carry” build for Sojourn in Overwatch and it is being talked about among the players as a game-changer. The build is very powerful and is said to make one a “lean, mean, railgun firing machine” according to the official Overwatch Twitter account. The build code 0SV1W, which comes from the content creator Eelix, is designed to use Sojourn’s damage potential in the game’s Stadium mode, to the maximum extent.

So let’s find out what the reasons are that this build is so awesome? The first thing is, it truly focuses on Sojourn’s railgun and so when she becomes the master of precision her primary weapon is a complete killer. The claim is that the setup has been arranged in such a manner that the power upgrades are all aligned with her kit, thereby forming what many call the most dominant Sojourn setup available at this time. A player can go to the stadium mode and put in the code 0SV1W to unlock this build; however, some have already filed a complaint that the whole thing is getting too famous and therefore too predictable.

By the Overwatch community, the reactions were a bit mixed. The players that are on the new meta build side are ecstatic while the others are using the opportunity to voice their discontent about the game. One player remarked, “Wow, the same 4 powers I see every sojourn run. how unique,” thus revealing that not everyone is impressed and thinks that the meta is dull and uninteresting.

Meanwhile, the comments section turned into the usual place for the Overwatch community to whine about character balancing issues. Many have specifically pointed out Hazard, Freja, Pharah, Ana, and Tracer and have called for nerfs. A highly disappointed player declared, “Queen doesn’t even need a nerf, the true nerfs we need are for hazard, Freja, pharah, Ana, and tracer” implying that indeed this is a portion of the balance that the community is very much vocal about.

One of the major issues discussed among the players seems to be the aimbot abilities in the Stadium mode. The players have been vocal about the auto-aim and one of them suggested: “Just get rid of aimbot powers and items and this mode would be amazing.” Another player shared, “That’s part of the problem, they are giving aimbot abilities to all the characters that don’t even need to aim already.”

Also, the technicalities were one of the major issues. A good number of users reported that they faced server disconnects or went offline. For example, one said, “I have not been able to play overwatch for 2 months every time I queue up I just wait and wait and wait, I’ve been sitting in queues for 35-40 minutes.” Other players claimed that they constantly had issues purchasing skins and in one case the user was very disappointed to lose 3,000 coins without the Ana “sniper” skin he was trying to buy.

Console gamers had a bit of good news though. One thrilled PlayStation gamer posted on Twitter, “THANK YOU FOR ADDING KEYBOARD AND MOUSE SUPPORT FOR CONSOLE I LOVE YOU DADDY BLIZZARD,” proving that at least some changes are being accepted positively.

What was I saying? Oh right the Sojourn build. I mean all the gripes about the other areas of the game, this new build still indicates Blizzard is continuously trying to engage with gamers and bring them new content. Moreover, if they are actually providing a specific build code, it means they are aware of what content creators and professional gamers are up to.

Plus, this build’s release is interesting as it also happens to coincide with the players being very eager to know about the new Junkrat mythic skin that is to be released soon. Many comments stated, “THIS ISNT THE JUNKRAT MYTHIC” and “I NEED THE RAT MYTHIC SO BADLY” making it clear that although Blizzard is trying to draw attention to the gameplay aspect of the game, the community is not in the mood for anything else.

The Stadium mode seems to be the cause of mixed emotions among the players. Some players appreciate the additional gameplay options very much while others complain about the performance; one player simply asked “Why is stadium so laggy 😭” and another said “Kill Hazard Stadium please and thank you!”

At first, code sharing for builds might seem a bit obscure but, in reality, it is an extremely clever and handy method of allowing players to rapidly try different character setups without the arduous and sometimes frustrating testing. It is quite different what has been done in Overwatch but still comparable to loadout sharing system in Destiny 2 and other games.

All that has been stated above makes it clear that the Overwatch community on Xbox and other platforms remains deeply engaged with the game’s evolving meta and features.
