Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has taken such a giant step that, according to the developers, it is “the biggest year in Black Ops history,” and the main factor of this big step is a copious content drop that has made the audience of gamers very talkative. The creators of the game, Treyarch and Activision, have just announced the official details for the release and the first season of the game and honestly, the figures are quite mad.

So let’s put it in a detailed way – the BO7 game will hit the market on November 14 and players right from the start will have access to 18 multiplayer maps and 2 Zombies modes. After just six days, on November 20, Nuketown 2025 will be available because why not – a Black Ops game without a version of Nuketown would not be a Black Ops game. And this is just the beginning – Season 01 brings along 7 new maps for multiplayer and 3 for Zombies in addition to what is already given, with more to be disclosed as per the officials’ tweet.

Simply put, the COD community’s reaction was partly hype and partly salt, which is typical of the COD community. Some players were just astonished by the amount of content they were going to receive. Diego tweeted, “Ngl the value here is amazing,” which indeed reflects how most people would put it when they think of the initial offering of this many maps.

On the flip side of the coin is a faction of gamers that are tired of the constant returning of Nuketown. TRIMIZZ00 was very straightforward when he said, “nuketown LMAO bro yall stay bringing back same shit every year and act as if it’s something new. your game is dying because you guys are lazy and don’t want to make a good game with new maps.” Ouch. Others, for example, Angel_78666, have simply replied, “Another nuketown map lmao,” showing their discontent and that they feel it is nothing new.

Zombies players will probably be the happiest ones, as they will immediately get 2 experiences at launch and 3 more in the first season which is quite a deal. But StevenAConklin did have a particular wish, “make zombies a separate install please and thank you,” which may indeed be a good idea considering the time it takes to download these huge game files.

One of the most baffling things about the whole situation is that Treyarch’s creative freedom is being questioned. GirlKissinReal did not hold back: “Fact is Treyarch is creatively bankrupt and wishes they could just make BO2 again. Except they lack the skill and talent at the studio now. 26 maps for MP and 6 are just remakes from a better game. Zombies just seems to be reimagined older maps. The fire has gone out.” Wow, just wow.

On the contrary, there are reports of players like vDdog_ who assert, “Bo7 haters are nowhere to be found right now,” suggesting that perhaps the huge content offering is indeed a major plus point. This is the classic COD cycle – everyone complains about the new game until it is released when they are already accumulating many hours of playing it.

The discussion around Warzone is still going on, of course – is there ever such a time it is not? Some gamers are already speculating about the reason for the silence regarding Warzone, Jacob thinks, “they’re likely just not saying anything about the warzone stuff to avoid spoilers or something,” and it does sound reasonable. But, DivineTheRed claims, “That Avalon warzone map is still not happening,” so it is really confusing at this stage.

Moreover, people are having a hard time recognizing the maps from among those that were shown in the past. SEA_ReFLeXz asked, “Can someone remind me what the beta maps were besides cortex?” and then later acknowledged, “Damn! I don’t remember playing more than 3 😭” which could easily be understood by the readers, it is just that the content is so huge that it is really hard to keep track.

The “carry forward” debate is still alive and players are still divided on the issue of whether skins and operators from previous games should still be able to crossover. Domo called out a guy who apparently bought a bundle thinking it would transfer: “It’s cause you wasted money on the bundle and realized it’s not going to carry forward? Your fault, you only get to use those skins in Warzone.” Meanwhile, TekinJ2000 is advocating, “Only thing they should carry forward are operators from Black Ops like Woods” which, in fact, is true since Woods is an iconic character.

However, it must be said that not everyone is so enthusiastic about the upcoming map overload – Ic3MaN shared his opinion as, “I actually don’t like too many maps because it’s hard to perfectly learn how to navigate the maps, and it will be difficult to play our favorite maps..” this is actually a valid point that is often overlooked. When you get 25+ maps, it happens that you may see your favorites only once every few hours of gaming.

The replies have even raised an international connection with it – rjmacedoo tweeted in Portuguese “esquece vou me entorpecer de cod” which translates to “forget it I’m going to get intoxicated with cod” which really? Same vibe.

The map discussion also gets very specific – players are already arguing which maps are good and which are “thick voluptuous booty cheeks” (as per ItsWayzy) and whether Vertigo is “awful” (Unloughful’s view). Meanwhile, the hope for remakes from BO6 such as Hacienda and Fringe is labeled “a free win” for the developers by horriblemercy.

When it comes down to the main point, though, the amount of content offered with Black Ops 7 is unbeatable. Whether you are one of the people who look forward to playing on 18 maps right at launch or you just roll your eyes if you hear about the new version of Nuketown, then, there is no doubt that the company releasing the product is throwing a lot with what could possibly be their most content-rich launch ever. The gaming community will indeed be very runny with cameras and wait to see if the quality of the gameplay will match the quantity when November 14 arrives. And of course, most of us will be there on the first day playing regardless of what we are complaining about on PlayStation and Xbox.
