PlayStation has officially disclosed the megaevent! Since the game’s announcement Marvel’s Wolverine is given a timeline, the players are really thrilled about it. An official announcement was made by the source itself stating the game would be live in Fall 2026, adding that it is possible to wishlist it now, along with that famous quote from Logan – “I ain’t no hero…”

Yes, we are talking about a colossal AAA Wolverine game from Insomniac, the very people who brought us the amazing Spider-Man series. But Fall 2026? That is merely two whole years away. This is a significantly long period in the gamers’ world, so let us not pretend about it.

The online reactions were just as expected – absolute chaos. There are a few users who are fully charged and many more like Terry who only replied “Done πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯let’s go” or Matthew Hartenberger who was quick to respond “You know it bub” with a hype gif. And then there’s Corey Cooper joining the debate about physical copies, which is a reasonable question in the digital era of today.

But, alas, that’s not all there is to it as there is a little trouble in paradise caused by adamantium claws. The comment section has been lively with people arguing about the issue of Sweet Baby Inc. One user mentioned “Story ruined by Sweet Baby IncπŸ’―” while another countered “Nobody is buying Sweet Baby garbage.” To add to that, someone is asking how much of their involvement is going to be like Spider-Man 2. It is turning out to be a debate whether the developers wanted it or not.

Then, there are the practical reservations. Zee is asking if it is coming to PS4, which…probably not? Given that we are talking about 2026 as the year. And Sam Tabler is for the idea of preorders rather than just wishlisting. On the other hand, Jacob is less concerned about the possibility of GTA 6 being released at the same time but Dialga Marine makes a good point that “People have been waiting for a genuine AAA Wolverine game for a while” therefore it will probably do well regardless.

But in their hearts, every gamer knows the truth that there will be a huge variety of gamers wanting to queue up just to play the game the moment it is released. Pure PlayStation declared it “Day One!” while another user named Sem simply said “It’s realllll” followed by a mind-blown gif. Yet there is Leandro Novaes on the other hand who is spreading the rumor that since the trailer was mostly CGI the gameplay may be boring. He is saying it would be like “your standard RPG with level up to unlock new moves, flashy finishers and stupid bosses.” Ouch!

It’s rather incredible how quickly at least mentally people think of collector’s editions and pre-orders of the game when in actuality there are still two years ahead of us. In a way, it is the gamers who are not willing to wait for the chance to experience a Wolverine of the highest quality kind. We had games for X-Men but a dedicated title for Wolverine with modern AAA treatment would be just the icing on the cake, so-to-speak, and not since… well, not since Hugh Jackman first suited up, really.

The timing is no doubt a little crazy. Fall 2026 seems to be an eternity but at the same time, it isn’t that far, right? There will certainly be more trailers, gameplay reveals, and all that fun stuff in between. But the fact that it can be wishlisted already means they are taking the hype-start very seriously.

There are even followers who are counting down already, for instance, DisAstrid just said “So much time.. πŸ˜…” and used that crying laughing emoji which is quite revealing. Meanwhile, on the other hand, b0yar directly categorized it “to far from now πŸ˜‘” which is absolutely a mood.

Insomniac Games surely has a lot of work ahead of them. The bar has been raised by the Spider-Man games and now they are handling one of the most favorite Marvel characters, the pressure is enormous. And to the online community, the engagement of some… narrative consultants implies the company will have to deal with some community concerns as well.

But come on, it is Wolverine. The guy who can heal from anything. He might get a little bit of internet critique. The main question now is what type of gameplay is it going to be like? Will it be like God of War with its brutal combat mechanics? Or might it be something entirely different? The wait is on, for now, the wishlist button is here and the countdown to Fall 2026 has officially started. Whether you are excited or skeptical, one thing is sure – the debate has begun.
