A brand-new game mode has been added to the game VALORANT, to which the players have already dived into new action. The mode is all about gunplay and pre-fight warm-up timings for solo duels or team skirmishes among teammates. It’s essentially straight-up killing without the spike being planted; first to 10 is the champ. A perfect change of pace to warm-up or just chill without the stress of objectives.
So, what is Skirmish exactly? Basically, it’s a team deathmatch but split into rounds. You either go solo or have a full team behind you to kill the enemies first to 10 rounds, winner-takes-all. No abilities, no spike, just mechanical shooting. A huge thing for people who want to truly just practice aiming without all the clutter from ability spam which sometimes alter the rhythm of fights in regular games.
The community… is all over the place. Can’t be tamed for this. User “hmmmmyuhh” had to describe it as a wow moment for Call of Duty Gunfight: “mmmm I fw this, like gunfight in COD.” That is honestly very fair. But then there are those guys who say, “Wait. Isn’t this just dumb Counter-Strike? Like, literally?” User “saltdoneit” commented, “we need a no abilities bomb defusal mode lowkey,” to which responses flooded with “Just play cs brother” by “thales7monteiro,” followed by “That’s literally cs” from “pulipulizzzz.” So there are definitely plenty of comparisons to CS.
But here’s the deal: Not everyone has CS, especially on consoles. User “STC0107” stated, “I play Val on console, no Cs2 on console.” So for them, Skirmish is very welcomed; it kind of gives that raw FPS feel to VALORANT already. To be honest, sometimes it’s about just going out and shooting stuff with no cares about lineups or crazy ability combos.
So, therefore, the whole discussions on abilities are quite real. Some have stated abilities are what make VALORANT, well, VALORANT. User “fromthsidelines” replied to saltdoneit, “no really, the abilities are what makes valorant – valorant, yk? if you don’t want abilities just play cs.” Very much a good point! The agent abilities are what define the game in a unique way. But having a mode that excludes them? Yeah, that’d be cool, especially for Xbox players.
