Yet another Epic Games collaboration that definitely shines in greatness, and boy, this one is something different. The FLOYYMENOR x FORTNITE drops with something called the ‘PELIGROSA’ emote, and from all accounts, the Internet was shredding this one to bits. I mean, reactions just ranged from ‘this is fire’ to ‘what in the actual hell is this animation.’
This emote stirred up an Internet storm. It is actually the ‘Peligrosa’ song by FloyyMenor, and the dance… well, the dance moves need talking about. Comments started rolling in on how fast the character moves-as if somebody turned the speed up to 11, and no one bothered to give a heads-up to the animators. @ashhhhlmao remarked, ‘why do they move so fast wtfðŸ˜.’ The chaotic energy is equally hilarious and terrifying-it all depends on your interpretation.
There have been split differences in the cases. Some players showered praise for its cracked intent. @Nyvhan said, ‘The emote is so funny ðŸ˜ðŸ˜’ while @bigchonkis456 remarked, ‘I bought this emote immediately just because of how goofy it is.’ These are the things that happen with Fortnite emotes because, for some strange reason, weird ones transition so fast into classics because of their memorability.
The other half is not really feeling the emote. There is a considerable group that feels the dance moves are just… bad. @Seahawkfan118 put it very simply: ’emote is funny but the fucking song is cheeks.’ Meanwhile, @Luisflo98965266 was even more succinct in saying, ‘Fire song. Shit dance 🪩.’ The divide is pretty strong-from applause for the song to hate for the frantic animation.
Worldwide fans are also entering the discourse. Among the Spanish-speaking players, @marvel_dc102 said, ‘Lo comprarÃa nomas porque está bien cagado,’ which in English could translate to, ‘I would buy it just because it’s really messed up’–honestly perfect feedback. Meanwhile, @inostroza_ criticized, ‘Peor mierda de emote ever,’ which means ‘Worst shit emote ever,’ so… no is not everybody’s cup of tea.
What interests me is that, in some form, gives context to Fortnite’s emote strategies and the pace at which quality collaborations keep dropping left, right, and center: a little sporadically. @LolMordor laid that down straight: ‘Nahh whoever has been in charge of emote animations/dances recently needs to be fired’–ouch. On the other hand, some players actually vibe with that randomness, with @AbdllahRaphel commenting, ‘This has to be the funniest and goofiest emote I’ve seen so far like the animation is so funny it like as if someone played with the spline graph or something.’
Then again, there’s some detective work going on among the replies. @bynagato thinks they’ve possibly found the dance that this one was based on, sharing a TikTok that has 1.4 million likes and shows very similar movements. So perhaps it’s not merely random spazzing-a little bit of method in the madness.
Other players are continuing to take the opportunity to enquire about upcoming content. @Kravix3D came forth with, ‘Is there any new updates on the Doja Cat skin and the K-pop demon hunter skins?’ because when one collab hits, everyone wants to know what’s next down the line. Meanwhile, @Joovainn is still waiting for that “over the moon” emote that was supposed to come.
It gives us a little insight into how the Fortnite collabs will go-one time they’re gonna hook you with absolute bangers everyone loves; the next, they give you… whatever this is. Anyway, love it or hate it, people have talked about it, which is most likely what Epic wanted. The ‘Peligrosa’ emote is available in the shop now for anyone brave enough to add it to their locker.
Let it go back to being crazy in the meantime, which is just what Fortnite emotes have always been about: self-expression, and sometimes that self-expression is utter chaos. This one is now undoubtedly making unbelievable player reactions; whether it becomes the next beloved meme or an utterly forgotten emote is something to think about. Speed, moves, vibes-It’s too much and just the right amount of Fortnite. Well, if you’ll excuse me, I am going to have to watch that animation countless times because I still have no clue about what is really going on.
For those playing on PlayStation or Xbox, the emote is just as wild.
