So, those were the greatest news that Fortnite has been putting out there that literally went “buzz”, for it’s about music. And as per the usual sources of leaks, the new Fortnite X Tron Ares Jam track is slated to drop tonight. Yes, you read that right. Tron. But hold on: the original tweet is being picked to shred by people spotting the transgressions.
The leaked tweet actually read “FORTNITE X TROM: ARES – JAM TRACK” and, as you could imagine, it was supposed to say “Tron” and not “Trom.” But that’s how it always goes when you type fast: autocorrect just decides it won’t cooperate. Or was it intentional to stir some conversation?? Whatever the case might be, the community noticed right away. Literally, within seconds, people started pointing it out. One of them said, “You might wanna change the text to Tron before people start to get mad…” while another one replied, “Trom bro 💔” with crying, laughing emojis.” It is already one big meme even before its release.
But, apart from the typo-shenanigans, what exactly is that? Jam Tracks, if you never really kept tabs on Fortnite Festival, are basically songs you get to play within the game. They are quite the musical part of Fortnite where you can actually perform and all. And it’s Tron-themed-this being that classic Disney sci-fi film with the Light Cycles and the whole dalliance with the digital world. Ares is probably a reference to the new movie or something out of the Tron universe. So, insanely sick.
That starts the questioning already. Somebody yelled if it’s a song or a game while another came in with the option of “Item shop is gonna be 🔥,” which is really good sense. Whenever Fortnite collabs, especially on something big like Tron, usually comes skins, and items attached. Maybe we are getting some Tron skins?? That would be insane. Walking around the island in one of those flashy guys would be so much fun.
Reactions were mixed but mostly positive. Some went full cray, with one user saying, ‘This is dope!’ and another who said they are saving that announcement. Then, the haters go, “Don’t care, we don’t like Disney,” which is OK. It’s a fair argument. Not everybody has to like Disney. But really, Tron is iconic. It has an awesome soundtrack by Daft Punk.
There’s some confusion as to what’s really dropping. It says ‘Jam Track’ in the tweet, so it’s probably just a song for Festival mode, and yet, everyone is holding their breath for disappointment. One user asked, “julian dillinger skin when?” which is a pretty deep cut Tron reference. Another commented, ‘And hopefully…’ with an eyes emoji implying that they want the skins. Anticipation is pouring out.
It’s hilarious how fast these communities become aware of every mistake. The ‘Trom’ thing is already a running gag. One says, ‘I love Trom!! lol,’ followed by a third posting, ‘Me and the boys ready to watch Trom Legasee,’ which is just hilarious. It’s these little things that make gaming communities so fun. Everyone’s in on the joke.
As for the release itself, it drops tonight, according to the tweet. So if you’re into Fortnite Festival, stay watchful because this may be a larger Tron collab with some items in the shop. Or, maybe it’ll be just a standalone track. At any rate, more content for the game, and there can never be too much content.
Fortnite has really been killing this sort of musical collaboration cause they collaborated from huge artists to movie soundtracks, they somehow always make the players engaged. It is a nice shift from the usual battle royale action. So, whether you’re hardcore Tron fanatic or just all about jamming in-game, this is one to look out for.
In the end, it’s just another day in the Fortnite universe where a simple tweet erupts into a wave of heat. From hype over to joke-make fun of erring typo, this community is always in motion. So, when the Tron Ares Jam Track hits tonight, count on a lot of players getting down to it. We are currently waiting, so… on PlayStation and Xbox.
