The moment Konami unleashed that tweet, it washed away the calm already prevailing over the horror-gaming community: Silent Hill f will launch seven days from now- that is September 25th, the reactions running the entire gamut anywhere from pure hype to some baffled demand for Nigerian servers??

The official Silent Hill account announced the release date, along with links to practically every major platform-i.e., PlayStation Store, Steam, Xbox, Epic Games, and Windows store, finally. Without a doubt, it’s a grand multi-platform assault, so unusual for a series that heartily embraced PlayStation in those old days. Straightforward was the tweet, but, in the comment section, the main story unfolds.

They are mostly positive vibes now. We got the kinds of gamers like @cabalcult who already has Silent Hill f booked on his end-of-the-year schedule with Ghost of Yotei (doesn’t that sound great?). Then @livelypasserby has his pre-orders ready and says, “can’t wait to play this 😊,” which was a bit adorable.

The weird stuff soared after. @IHateDS3 asks them to “Remove jumpscares if there’s any,” which… bro it’s Silent Hill. Jumpscares are like half the point, right? Conversely, @RealViktor_dc goes with “No demo, NO PURCHASE!,” which is fine, but also, the game releases in a week; maybe just wait for the reviews?

Pricing is inflicted with a different set of pains. Out from Australia, @SwitchX2 is looking at a $130 sticker and says, “Bro….wtf.” Yeah, that is rough, buddy. And the response from @DailyDeatholder is, “That is standard 😭,” which just makes it even sadder. Price tags on games down under are brutal.

Then there’s that deluxe edition early access. @MagGamerInc reminds Konami: “Remind people we can get this 48 hours early with deluxe,” to which @Frogboyx1Gaming sarcastically jabbed, “For the low price of 10 more bucks you can pay extra to make youtube videos for everyone else” – and honestly? A pretty fair critique of modern game monetization.

On the other hand, some peeps are confused about what the game even IS. @imajanitor straight up says “Trailers put me to sleep. Doesn’t look like silent Hill,” which… okay, that’s one opinion I guess? But @SolidusSnek claps back with “I’m glad you’re disappointed,” which would be so great being slope.

What is really interesting, though, is how many people are mixing up Silent Hill f with the Silent Hill 2 remake. @thebookofheru already started congratulating @BlooberTeam on the “massive success with the Silent Hill 2 Remake” on a tweet regarding Silent Hill f? Wait, what was I saying-oh right, completely different games. Silent Hill f is the brand-new standalone title set in Japan and not a remake at all.

Then there are random requests. @papilo_peniel87 is asking for “Give Nigeria server,” which sure? And @valpou01 is spamming “Master LeagueMaster LeagueMaster League” about eFootball, which has absolutely nothing to do with Silent Hill. Basically, the comment section is a wonderful mess.

The excitement is palpable as @khalidghamdi07 will buy the deluxe edition and declare, “I can’t wait Konami I cannot,” which is such a mood. Meanwhile, @Frogboyx1Gaming is already becoming impatient with this one, begging, “Please for the love of gaming do a new Castlevania!!!” Yeah, Konami, about that…

Seven days could feel like an eternity waiting for a new Silent Hill, especially one that looks that good. Set in 1960s Japan, creepy biological horror elements, the game is being worked on by NeoBards Entertainment, and the story is coming from Ryukishi07 of fame due to Higurashi… Lot’s on the line for this.

From blasting through early with a deluxe edition on the 23rd to the standard launch on the 25th, one thing is clear: The fog is rolling in town with a whole new species of nightmare. Just may not have removed the jumpscares or added Nigerian servers by launch day.
