So, Fortnite fans, brace yourselves a little. We have gotten news quite recently from the very reliable HYPEX. The word is that the OG Fortnite Season 6 is set for release on either the 2nd or the 3rd of October, and the players have been going crazy wondering what remixes will grace the Battle Pass. And honestly? The hype is justified.
Something bigger, then? So maybe in case one is not in the know: Having sort of a nostalgia kick, Epic Games has started reanimating the prime Fortnite seasons under the “OG” title, giving the newer guys a bit of magic and serving an overdose of nostalgia for the veterans. Season 6, of course, is up next; for those of you who remember this era, it was a good-time period. Pets, floating island, and some of the top-tier skins ever produced in the history of Fortnite.
Now, interestingly, the question that has become a burning desire to be known by everyone is: What skins from the original Season 6 Battle Pass are going to get the remix treatment? HYPEX dropped a tweet with a prediction graphic, and the replies are practically flushed with guesses, requests, and pure excitement. So let us breakdown some of what people are saying, because boy do they have some opinions.
The most trending names? Probably Dire, Calamity, and Fable. Honestly, it’s all over there. grounded4murder said, “IT HAS TO BE Dire, Calamity and Yond3r,” and I’d say, pretty much the general consensus. But wait, it’s not just those three! Dusk, Giddy-Up, or even some wild cards like llama or ballerina could easily get thrown into the ring. Yeah, ballerina. Cuz why not?
But the love for these skins… is insane! KrazieKatt16 says, “Dire better get a remix for this pass, and it’ll be good, or imma be PISSED,” I totally agree. The love for Dire, the werewolf skin, is insane. And Calamity? I cannot even start on it! luvv_jaa plead, “Please give me a good calamity 🙏🏾” same. The original Calamity is a fan favorite, and if they pull it off right, a remix could be absolutely amazing.
There are also a few interesting thoughts about which shop skins will get the remix treatment. Bengravens considered, “Wouldn’t be shocked if this is also a shop skin debuting when OG6 comes out.” and I guess they are right; Epic has done something like this before – so, there’s all chance they’ll toss in a remix of a popular item shop skin from that era, as well.
Oh, those were the good times. RESIDENTEVIL086 replies to someone: “Same I miss the old days 😭” which, honestly, same bro. Season 6 was a different time. The map was evolving; the gameplay was shifting, and the skins? Chef’s kiss. No wonder players are eager to return.
There is also a cynical one in the bunch. Luxanator36 delivers the cold hard truth: “@HYPEX They’re gonna fuck it up,” and alright, it is pessimistic but valid. It’s not always that Epic hits the nail on the head with these remixes, and if they pick the wrong skins or do a lousy job on them, backlash will be quick and severe in full-throated voices. So, fingers crossed, huh?
There have also been some cool ideas thrown out. WannabeSpidey apparently brought forth the werewolf Fable idea, which received a ton of love, with TheCupidDuzt saying, “That’s a fantastic Fable concept! The details are amazing. Well done!” So who knows, maybe Epic is lurking and taking notes.
And then, on an entirely unrelated tangent, TopBlokeAlfred asked, “@HYPEX any updates on the launcher thing where we can pick and choose game modes to install?” uh, not really related but hey, while we’re here, any news on that Epic?
That excitement is literally palpable in the air. Season 6 was a monumental season for Fortnite, and bringing it back with remixed Battle Pass skins is brilliant. Beginning with Dire, Calamity, Fable, or a wild card, and players are ready to basically throw their V-Bucks at a screen. The drop date is literally around the corner, so it’s not going to be long. Depending on the 2nd and 3rd of October new calendars will be marked with excitement from everyone finally taking a plunge back into one of Fortnite’s most loved seasons ever. And, maybe, if chance is in favor of this, we’ll see that Dire remix everybody has been begging for. Cross all fingers; if not, it’s gonna be one heavily disappointed werewolf fan.
