The banner for the Roving Chalice of Dewgrass event brings back some Sumeru characters and weapons, and the community’s reaction to the whole thing is almost indescribably off-the-wall.

Some players outright call this “worst chronicled wish banner.” One harshly said, “5 of the characters are off meta and ugly, shit banner.” Few jokes at that one; “Wishes From The Nation of Mid” is funny regardless of your stance. There are also those who dislike the weapons side of the banner. Everyone wants Beacon of Reed Seas to come home this time, anyway, but some are wondering if “other than key idk what value I may get” pulling for weapons. That’s an eternal dilemma for any gacha player: do you risk it for the biscuit?
The beauties of these bannering reactions, meanwhile, are their personalized nature. You’ve got people going ultra-specific, “do i go for alhaitham c1 or nilou 😔 – and boy, is that crying emoji true. Internal struggle of choosing one constellation or a brand-new character- every Genshin player feels that. Then desperation takes hold: “HUNTER’S PATHðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ SOMEONE DONATE PULLS” – that’s the vibe.

Who knows, but it’s hilarious.
At the end of the day, this banner means people talked, and it’s quite evident. FOMO, the missed characters, and the hate-the-banner-lovers combo was good-old baiting them to pull. That’s how they get you.
Now the feelings for the Sumeru cycle finale seem to have hit hard as well- “we’re so close to be done with this Godforsakened nation,” – which, same honestly. It’s been a long arc but one that has birthed such brilliant characters that people obviously have strong opinions about.
At the end of the day comes the banner’s worth, so it will always be a very subjective question in the gacha game arena- trash for some, god-tier for another, depending on whether they already have the characters and personal preference for them. That’s why it makes for very messy but entertaining discussions.
