Bungie announced that all Season Challenges and rewards currently in Destiny 2 will be wiped clean. Yes, with Ash and Iron arriving at the weekly reset on September 9, 2025, the reset will take place. So international last-minute grind addicts better get in some challenges this weekend and grab those Large Bright Dust Piles; otherwise, they’re gone forever—or at least until the next season. Who even remembers it anymore?

Anarchy Rules, the Fallout community is such a mess of confused people, salty people with only the rarer nice people still enjoying the game. Like this one player, who’s asking: Do Challenges no longer cash in XP toward the new Season and the Artifact like they used to? That’s honestly a fair question—because Bungie changes these systems more often than I change my socks.

Now, people are asking about all sorts of things, like @mwwhitesides who wants to know if we need to claim everything from the Rewards Pass now or later. Mate, I’d avoid later times and just do it all now; Bungie’s track record for things carrying over isn’t exactly stellar, remember the whole transmog bounty carry-over mess? @WillPaxon claimed they could still do those, but those are exceptions and not the norm.

Then, the complaints about the current state of Destiny 2 just poured in. @majorjunko22 is begging for a little endgame, asking where Grandmaster Nightfalls, the Master dungeons are—anything that puts up a challenge that isn’t a raid. “The grind is fine, but what’s it all for?” Mood. Seriously, big mood.

Then, of course, it cascaded into chaos over the portal system. @666718 defended it, saying that after spending more than 5000 hours in the Director they got bored and like the new thing. Then @voldrace29067 responded, “the portal isn’t bad, it’s the content on it that’s terrible; it’s the same s over and over and over again.” @SamizdatWorks concurred by adding “no one’s against the portal as a concept, people are upset about how badly it was executed.” To me, that sounds exactly like the general consensus I am seeing.”

A few players have said their time is up. @Movies_N_Games just said, “No thanks, this game is a major disappointment nowadays.” @Serj_7509 thinks of forcing themselves to log in to do 20 challenges for bright dust or just be playing Silksong, Alan Wake 2, or Helldivers instead. When other games start to look more fun than your grind, it means something.

Back to the season reset: Ash and Iron arrive on September 9, so if someone wants something from this season, they better do some grinding this weekend. The Large Bright Dust Pile is apparently something people want, although who knows what we might be able to use bright dust for next season with how the economy keeps getting changed.

Of course, there was some confusion about whether or not unstable cores expire at the end of the week (@AlfredoSawcy43 asked that one) and whether those who bought Edge of Fate will have to pay for a new Rewards Pass or if the update has it for free (@SerratedViper tossed that question in). Given Bungie’s past, I’m guessing probably have to pay again but who knows? Maybe they’ll surprise us this time.

Random stuff is being thrown at us; one of those being, @speedracer_1337 is pissed about precision on a 240 scout rifle: “Whoever at Bungie decided that needs to be fired because what the fuck is this bullshit?” Which, honestly, fair call; that does sound like a weird perk combo.

Still, some players are just enjoying themselves! @Michael06379669 says it’s the second time he’s done these challenges since “most previous ones had too many I wouldn’t do.” So I guess the current season’s challenges seem doable? At least that’s something.

Then @myYouTubetrash goes and hops on a Destiny POV probably meme-first interpretation: the game’s on fire. Of course, they would. Then @Raijinmeister states, “the only minority is the people still playing this dead game,” ouch, maybe not wrong though, if you look at the numbers lately.

Anyway, to wrap it all up: season ends on September 9, so get your challenges done this weekend, grab your rewards, and hopefully, Ash and Iron will see some much-needed improvements to the game. Or, you already know, more of the same. At this point in time, who even really knows? The community seems to be in complete disarray—the very few who find joy in the game versus those who feel that the game has gone way off-track. I, clandestinely, will probably be logging in this weekend for some bright dust, but I highly doubt the new season will reel me in for longer than a week. Bungie really needs to put on their big-boy pants if they want to try to win back players currently jumping ship for other games.
