In regard to the Season 05 Reloaded update, with a brand-new multiplayer map called Jackpot and the famed Deadline LTM mode back with a new scorestreak, the Warzone And Black Ops 6 season has just given a rush to every fan out there. However, with these, the players are just screaming about download sizes, game-breaking bugs, if not enforcement of cheaters, and broken perks.

Again, a really cool update by Activision, no? And then the community will instantly start destroying itself. I swear, the comment section in response to their announcement tweet is nothing but pure rage and frustration. It goes beyond the new content; there is a problem that the game is actually working.

Starting with the download sizes, some contrary to the given feedback, quite a few players have reported the download size has now grown to be greater than 130GB. One Xbox player went, “Bruh, another 130GB install? My poor Xbox can’t keep up.” Ehm, same. I mean, who just casually has 130Gbs of storage capacity just lying around for one game? Then others are saying this update has actually uninstalled their whole game! What?? Jay tweeted: “Guess your new update did everyone a favour by uninstalling the game. Might as well move to battlefield now.” That’s brutal, but almost hilarious if it weren’t so upsetting for those trying to actually play.

Then come the game-breaking bugs. Harrison Jones claimed to have been playing since COD2 and rambled about spending 58 minutes in a match and stuck in endless loops. “I wasted an hour,” he stated, and really, that’s just about the worst feeling when you’ve finally gotten some time to game and then you can’t even get into a match. Then another player called Proteus said: “The one time I was able to join a match, I got an error I had to restart the game.” So when you do get in, it crashes anyway.

Wait, wait, wait… There’s more! Players have been reporting perks like Ninja and Flack Jacket aren’t working. Loads of people are tweeting about this – Nation said, “Yo ninja is NOT working,” and Raymartii13 followed up with, “Y’all need to address Ninja and Flack jacket not working.” So not only is it almost a chore to get into a game, when you do, basic mechanics might be broken. Just fantastic.

Then there are all those issues players have been complaining about for months. The SBMM is still ruining the game for people. Usman Ali tweeted: “Sbmm needs to go or toned down, I don’t need to feel like playing ranked championship finals every day in multiplayer!!! Its exhausting.” Everyone just wants to chill and play at times without having to hold their ass off every match.

Hackers? Is it still a big problem? DirtyCJak said, in Spanish (I have basically translated), that they reported multiple hackers, and none of them got banned, asking how do they expect to save the game from this if they aren’t contributing. JamesShiffler also went off on the cheating issues: “You are driving this game straight into the ground. No wonder BF6 has so much hype you are doing all of this stupid shit.” Ouch.

The new contents sound cool in theory. The Jackpot map sounds interesting; Deadline LTM should be fun, and then there is the Combat Bow, which likely is a little crazy. But players will be stuck halving the internet for a download or game-breaking bugs for an eternity to experience it.

Now, there have been some specific things mixed into the discussion- Rick is still asking about the new revolver and riot shield, which probably means some promised content might have actually skipped this update after all? Or maybe it’s coming soon? The communication around these updates always feels kind of sloppy.

And we’re about to slingshot into the overall sentiment on this game going through a hard time. Multiple people actually called it some fedora or something. JustinHowse0311 said, “Just to die to cheaters/cronus users lol. Games dead,” which is pretty harsh, but you can feel that frustration.

The irony is, Call of Duty is one of the biggest gaming franchises, massively cushioned by colossal budgets and resources, and players are still confronted with these basic functionality problems. Download issues, Server problems, broken perks, hacked invasions – it’s like the game fighting with itself.

Reckoning Directed Mode sounds nice on paper, but I mean, what do you do with all these game-breaking jackpot maps if your players cannot even get into matches consistently? The potential is there-the new content can be awesome-however, the execution is just kicking everyone hard.

New content is not in demand anymore, and one thing the players want is for the game to run. Fix the downloads, fix the servers, fix the perks, and kill all those hackers. Maybe we can start enjoying the Jackpot map and Deadline mode at that point.

The timing is specially brutal, just weekend game time. ChrisMet said, “I’d rather just keep it the way it was and not have to redownload the whole game again on a Friday afternoon after work 🤦‍♂️,” definitely when some guys just want to chill out and play, not deep-dive into technical nightmares.

So yeah, there’s Season 05 Reloaded, some things with some promise that sound good on paper but good luck playing it without wanting to throw your controller through the screen. Maybe by the time we roll into Season 06, that level of basic functionality would have been sorted. But then, at this rate? Who can say!
