The skins are ready to be bought in Fortnite. They won’t be in stock for long. Epic Games is about to remove Saitama, Genos, and 100 people from the item shop. And we all know how these collaborations go – once they disappear, who knows when they will come back for sale??
The official Fortnite account remained fairly mute in that regard: “The ONE PUNCH MAN Heroes are heading out soon. Grab them just before they leave the shop.” There is no common time given for it; just like any other time, Epic just likes to keep us guessing until the last possible second. But in Fortnite lingo, “soon” usually means in a day or so; so if you are bent on getting the bald-headed caped hero or his cyborg counterpart, you better work those Saitama V-Bucks fast.
Speaking of V-Bucks, the comments under the tweet have taken all the crazy. There’s some major drama going on with Fortnite’s refund system. Really! There are dozens of players complaining that skins have been disappearing from their locker? It’s not random stuff; people are alleging that Epic outright removed items they paid for with legit purchased currency.
One player said, “@Carter2018Zack: ‘Fortnite can we fix this? I bought my Vbucks legit and you took my stuff,'” with a screenshot of items missing in there (and he wasn’t alone). “@jahbe_mvn” said, “same thing happened to me,” and “@On3Th3Edg3” then blew this scandal wide open, saying, “this is such a bad look for your game especially your company.” Yikes.
Yeah, where was I? Right, One Punch Man skins. So despite all the refund mess, folks are still rather hyped about the anime collab. @GAMB1T14 was giving out recommendations like “I recommend getting genos for anyone thinking about getting a one punch man skin before they leave… Genos is a beast and honestly best skin of this collab.” Dude has never even watched the show but already thinks the skin is amazing – that’s how good it is.
There are the usual suspects clamoring for a return for many others. When do people want Naruto to return? seems to be most common, with many wondering when the Hidden Leaf Village ninjas will grace their screens again. @GamerAlberto5 has gone full throttle by utilizing the #bringbacknarutototheitemshop hashtag. Meanwhile, @vempirie only wants her Ariana Grande back, and honestly, so do I.
Some really random car requests are also there. “@SrNingu50456138” replied, “Please, I’ll buy both of these cars on the same day if they arrive,” with some car emojis. No clue what that’s about, but hey, now that Fortnite has racing, I bet they’re adding more cars, huh?
Back to the point-if you want to punch people into the next week as Saitama or blast them with arm cannon rays as Genos, you may have 24 to 48 hours maximum. These anime collabs usually rotate out quite fast, and judging by how many people want to know when they will be back, they’re not exactly coming back.
Side note – the whole refund thing is pretty much messy as of now. There are several claiming that Epic just took skins and V-Bucks without any explanation whatsoever; one user even threatened to take the matter to “Profeco,” which I assume is the Mexican consumer protection agency? This might be going bigger than just some missing cosmetics.
Meanwhile…If you happen to have enough V-Bucks and are thinking about claiming the yellow jumpsuit before it is gone, hit the purchase button now. From what we know about Fortnite, once these disappear, it could be months before they come back. Or never. And no one wants to be that guy who missed out and spent the next six months begging on Twitter for their return.
So, yes. These One Punch Man skins? Leaving soon. You have been warned. I’m going to look into my locker right now to see if they’ve covertly taken anything from me….
