It’s a spandex suit of speculation, and my favourite to watch is Dr Disrespect, who with that legendary flip phone of his amazed us with a playthrough containing a 4-5 hour length.
Pure VSM as the hashtag says. VSM meaning Victory, Science, Momentum, for those not in the Champions Club. And the comments? Oh man the comments are a whole mood. Everyone from MAGAGIRL shouting “NOBODY!!!” with a gif to people asking if he still streams after the Twitch ban situation. Classic internet madness.
The game is the real news here, so let’s focus on that. Metal Eden is set to feature cybernetic themes and fast action. Parkour or smooth combat animations could be indicated through the phrase “fluid movement.” The fact that the game has partnered with Dr Disrespect indicates that the gameplay is significant. Dr Disrespect doesn’t endorse random things, so this sets the game apart as something special.
Its length is 4-5 hours which is a bit short but not every game needs to be a 100 hour epic. Sometimes you want a focused, brief experience that doesn’t overstay its welcome. And with cybernetic warfare as the main hook? That could mean mechs, hacking, all sorts of cool tech stuff.
From the comments, it’s clear gamers are excited. DocsStache is hyping Dok with “LET’S GO DOC,” while Golfstee clumsily tries to shoehorn his favorite Tarkov into the mix with a “Play Tarkov Doc,” and to top it off my favourite Vlad No1 Pilot poetically chants, “today we play in the METAL garden, of Eden…yaya.”
There was even some strange drama in the comments with someone named 69Shadow420 going on about free Palestine and calling someone Zio scum which… what does that have to do with Metal Eden? Nothing, but that’s Twitter for you. Always some random nonsense in the comments.
Back to the game, since Dr Disrespect is playing it live, I guess we can expect some proper gameplay soon. If he finishes it in a single sitting, we might even get a review. For a 4-5 hour game, that’s something he might actually do.
What caught my attention was the partnership, though. Because the Pure VSM #MetalEdenPartner makes me think this isn’t just a random game he’s playing, but something he’s collaborating with the devs. Maybe they promoted it. Maybe he even had some input. It’s a mystery, but with the Two-Timer around, I know it’s going to be fun.
Some comments wondered if it was a real sponsorship with one person saying ‘That’s definitely not a sponsorship lol’ but like… why would he use the partner hashtag if it wasn’t? Seems legit to me.

An outbreak of support from the Champions Club, not to mention the general hype, makes the ‘millions in the arena’ claim all the more believable. If the movement lives up to expectations, it could be another sleeper hit, especially with the cybernetic warfare angle. The shorter length is a bummer, but less is more when it comes to indie games, so there’s no fat to trim. Just action.
The community’s response? Aside from usual trolls, the overwhelming response was positive, with the Champions Club arriving heavy with support and hype. ‘Millions in the arena!’ as sol_skull put it. Whether or not that is true, the energy is definitely there.
