EA Madden kind of went off the deep end posting a Micah Parsons photo on Twitter, and while I expected him in Dallas Cowboys colors, he’s rocking the green and yellow of the Packers. There are also captions “new colors, same dominance” and “how many sacks in these colors”, and as anticipated, the Madden community is super excited. But this is a little unexpected?
So, to begin, Micah Parsons is definitely one of the most buzzed-about defensive players for the Cowboys. Thinking about him in a Packers jersey would be the most wild TV trade in years, but given it’s EA, I’m pretty sure this is another case of them messing around with some fantasy lineup, which is their brand now. Either way, it’s clear the gamers are not having it—like, aren’t the rosters in Madden 26 updated yet? I’m not even joking.
There is no chance. If you attempt to discern the conversation by scanning through the Madden tweets, you will notice that @strappedbypack with the tweet ‘UPDATE THE ROSTERS!!!’ in all caps has the most distinctive tweet; the rest are all pretty similar whining about roster updates in small text. And then @Sicario941 calling them ‘bozo’ without caps is kind of funny but also pretty weak. Both of their tweets are pretty small in comparison to @Elliot_4pf24 who has the stamina for Elliott meta and update whining for saying ’16. Update the rosters asap’. I feel like everyone is frustrated but I personally feel the level of frustration is boring and very expected.
The lack of Madden roster updates is an entirely different battle, but the fact that there are this many spats over if this trade is good or bad just strikes me as weird. Like sure, it’s for a video game, but Madden tournaments worth millions of dollars also take this seriously. This fallacy of @IknowUmadd and @nfberndt arguing is very analogous to 2000’s sports radio arguing over the Packers and Cowboys offensive and defensive levels on twitter. The stats with EPA a play and DVOA keep increasing to something that seems very over the top for a tweet about a fantasy football trade. If you put a label on Madden players, you should also put one on national sports Analysts; even though the ratio exceeds as set, the knowledge is present.
There are plenty of people tossing random sack figures. @crack863 threw out “14.5”, @justinborough3 said “15”, and @RJSmith33043 settled on “7”. And @_WeezyWrld here is saying “Probably like 100,” which is insanely off the charts and somehow amazing. In Madden, if you simulate a season, sometimes the numbers just explode, so who knows? Maybe he’ll shatter the record.
The rest of the world is talking about Madden 26 dropping, and it still doesn’t have roster updates to reflect current NFL seasons which is the real problem. For christ’s sake EA, show some effort. People want to be able to play with legitimate teams, not last year’s teams. In fact, @FunhousePa24518 is complaining about game glitches too, “everything overlaps each other the audio still cutting out and then we freeze or get stuck behind other players are offensive linemen”. That also doesn’t sound great. Maybe fix that while you’re at it.
People are wondering about @croblovesmadden asking, “Hey folks how about adding Amari Cooper to the game?” Which, yeah, so, where is he? And @M4NI4C wants the Companion app updated, which apparently is important. Gamers are demanding a bunch of updates and they’re yelling a lot about it.
Wait, what was I on again? Oh yes, Micah Parsons. So, fantasizing about him on the Packers is Madden is truly nuts. The defense would be utterly awful. But until EA actually updates the rosters, those ”dreams” or nightmares are frankly stupid. I feel like he gets 12 sacks, but, as I always say, I’m just a stranger or a reporter.
The funniest part is no one is even real. I mean, consider that these people feel the need to get in depth about a trade’s garbage merits. The best part about Madden is that it lets you actually live out what could have been, even with the game acting buggy as of now. If you want to play Madden 26, I suggest you avoid franchise mode until the roster update drops. According to @AllHailGeemoney, it should be next Wednesday or Thursday before the first game so make sure you plan around that.
For all the football fans out there, Madden has it all. The passion, the arguments, the relentless demands for updates — it’s all part of the package. For the Madden community, EA is not messing around. Well, they are playing, but you get the gist. So, update the rosters, fix the audio, and let us enjoy Micah Parsons in green and yellow. For the moment, that is. But hey, at the very least we got a cool picture out of it.
