Okay, so here’s what happened. Destiny 2‘s Solstice 2025 event is about to end soon and the community reaction… well, let’s just say it’s not that rosy. Bungie has actually reminded the fearless ones through a Tweet to finish up their challenges and cash out those last Solstice ranks before the reset hits with the weekly reset. It, umm, actually didn’t work out too well for Bungie.

Speaking of reactions, the people have become thoroughly enraged and jumped online on full keyboard warrior mode. Some are outright begging Bungie for an extension to the event. Old Nick was among the more vociferous, screaming in all caps: “Hey Bungie extend the event for another week. Listen to your community, ffs.” And honestly? He isn’t isolated, either. Many have uttered some version of “please just give us more time,” which is probably a fair request. Two weeks for something like this? Feeling kind of short, especially when the grind is so harsh.

Next comes one of the harshest opinions in the thread, by Ruddah: “First solstice I didn’t complete. Bungie, you’ve fucked our game up big time.” Oof. That is not just salt—that’s seasoned salt. It doesn’t stop just at the time limit, either. A lot of players are also putting out to Bungie the loot system, the drop rates, and even some torturous acts (I’m looking at you, Creation solo ops). One player, NViKTuS_GG, passionately begged: switch to Caldera or K1 already because, I quote, “having Creation as the bonus drop in the last day is torture.”

But that’s just the beginning! To some extent, those who are displeased begin the show-off: for example, JDxmatteis said, “yea holofoils are supposed to be rare I’ve only had 2 drop the whole event.” The rest, however, are drowning in dupes of armor pieces where all they want is a single weapon drop. Jello117 pretty much sums up the feelings of many in their Trials rant: “Imagine having extra drops… you’d think I’d get a weapon right? Nope. Extra armor. Greeeeat.”

Then, there is the power grind that KeeperOfCheese deemed a “massive L,” and to be honest? It’s mostly the same with me. My feeling is that the system is there to test your patience instead of rewarding your effort. Stodds13 made it clear, saying they “refuse to run the same solo ops 1000 times,” which for the record, again, same.

What comes out of this? Solstice 2025 had its moments-whatever loot was being hyped by some was despised by others-but the big picture was that Bungie seriously dropped the ball on the duration. And will Bungie really ever listen and extend the event? Probably not. But at least we got some high-grade whining out of it.

So, until the final nail is hammered, all of you who haven’t finished the Solstice grind better get to it already. The reset’s gonna hit any minute, and Bungie is not playing good Samaritan.
