FFXVII fanatics have gone mad over the unexpected Suzie Yeung message – with the very voice behind Yuffie Kisaragi, everyone’s materia-thief extraordinaire. The clip contained a snippet from that very message of Yeung, and chaos reigned as speculations, excitement, and another million of wild Final Fantasy VII-flavored Twitter-frantic replies took form in Silicon Valley.
So, just what is all this? It is, in fact, a simple message from Yeung thanking players for their support and hyping Yuffie’s role in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The real hot topics lie in the replies, in which players are fighting over Xbox release, Switch 2 rumors, and part 3 revelations.
One popped in with @x713_ht saying, “Please open preorders i will be buying the deluxe edition on xbox to support you. thanks for bringing your games over!” Yeah, that sounds like an ad-hoc plea of desperation to have any FFVII content on something else other than PlayStation. Meanwhile, @FtSoldierTSaki went full-scale conspiracy, saying Square Enix is dropping its Sony exclusives because of “poor marketing sales information.” (Doubtful, but a good rumor always flourishes among gamers.)
Now for the Switch 2 talks: @LAGRANYUYA1 pleaded, “Please don’t be game key cart on Nintendo switch 2″—because apparently thinking of a physical cartridge is just too much. And then @FtSoldierTSaki once more claimed that “2 additional episodes will be coming to Switch 2 and Xbox Series.” (Square Enix praised by hype for not starting with confirmed evidence.)
On the flipside, the whole crowd is not on said favor. One blessed the occasion, @omgimofp confessed: “I hated you so much as a child why are you such a pain in the ass”—Which honestly is fair. Yuffie, and sit the routine of steal your materia and vanish into the night were infuriating in the original, but now, that has become everybody’s favorite; @Japanesechipmnk said she is “THE GOAT💚,” and @joemesh9717 said “my GOAT!”
And of course, the big one: When is Part 3 dropping? @exFragile_ plainly asked. “How about part 3 lil bro”—to which @FtSoldierTSaki replied, “2027.” (No official word, but hey, at least they are confident?)
Then comes the ugly truth from EastCoastTone47: “I’m trying to get through FF7 Remake right now, but I can’t lie the pacing and handholding has been boring me to death.” Oof. Others feel similarly; repositioning Rebirth for a more open style is what players are pushing for.
In short, Suzie Yeung’s message was brief yet sweet and somehow sparked a heated debate on the future of Final Fantasy VII. If you are an aficionado of all Yuffie’s antics, well-spread Xbox port dreams, or just praying for a Switch 2 miracle, there is one thing that everyone adores: Rebirth cannot come soon enough.
If that is not convincing enough for you, listen to @L_O_S1: “Thank You Suzie! You totally killed it as Yuffie, 10 out of 10.”
So, Square Enix, what’s the deal with those preorders…
