Pato, a five-time long shot, high-speed genius of Arrow McLaren, saw his No. 5 Chevrolet IndyCar livery added into Forza Motorsport, and how indie game enthusiasts could ever calm down since then? The 2-time champ (2018 Indy Lights, 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar) now struts along virtual tracks with fury; well, not everyone followed suit.
Let’s begin with the livery. Smooth and proper, and this McLaren papaya orange would just go against every creative dignity you’ll ever know. Some players, however, are shrugging an almost bigger kind of shrug than a mechanic after an oil change. Jason Becker put it rather bluntly, “Shrug…people already made quality team liveries on their own. Nothing special here.” Ouch. On the contrary, Antonio Cepeda exclaimed, “The best of the best!!” So, the opinion is split-the tires are being debated on whether they’re for oval or for road courses.
And then, here’s the whole drama about Xbox One. Indy Soup just bombed the situation: “None of the new IndyCar content works on Xbox One. Would have been nice to have this info before buying the disc. 🤬” Chaos ensued. Replies were coming like, “Forza Motorsport doesn’t work on Xbox One bro,” and then another one was, “Dude, that makes sense. That game isn’t available on Xbox One.” And someone added in for good measure, “Bro grow up wtf.” Classic gamer discourse.
But wait. Players are crying for actual real tracks like Monza and COTA, fixing cockpit view (“steering wheel hands clipping through the dashboard—immersion shattered”), mad that updates are discontinued (Darkpet1981: “Is it true?”), and somebody really wants T-cam view: “Pleeeeeeeeeeease add T cam at some point 🙏🙏🙏🙏.” The desperation is dripping.
Meanwhile, AidanSUUU went at Gran Turismo: “Forza fans are eating… You heard that @thegranturismo @Kaz_Yamauchi !?!?” Subtle. Not so subtle? The guy demanding the removal of “child r@pe flags from drivatar cars.” Yep, that actually went down.
Bottom line: Pato’s livery has landed, and the discussion is spreading far and wide. Some fell in love; some are yawning; while the rest are too busy fighting over Xbox One compatibility to give a damn. And that, well, is Forza fandom-a passionate nitpick-and-chaos-style bonanza. VRRROAAAAAMM indeed.
