The major milestone has passed in the development of Grounded 2, with 3 million players having explored Brookhollow Park. The Obsidian Entertainment crew posted their thanks on Twitter because of the community’s support and feedback that helped shape Grounded and its sequel.
And what a journey it has been. From dodging spiders the size of SUVs to putting together little forts out of grass blades, Grounded has always been a great experience. Now with a much larger backyard thanks to Grounded 2, players are diving back in- bugs and all.
There still remain issues with the game. Players like Sunnybear49110 are having fun but are complaining about frequent crashes: “Having a blast! Crashes are frustrating but otherwise I’ve had a great gaming experience.” The ShamanicSerpent laid out: “It’s fun but crashing quite a bit in some pretty random moments.”
And then, there are the ones who adore it. While Mello, aka November_Reigns, said it’s their “hands-down favorite game,” they’re urging their wife to play it. Wolfness97, on the other hand, is looking ahead: “Can’t wait to explore the entire map in a couple years!!”
And then there’s Hoodnewzmedia with ridiculous ideas like “flying on the backs of bees and other insects.” Obsidian, better take notes.
Now, there are always those who seem dissatisfied. Jimitron147 is plagued with the save system and asks, “Is there any update on not being able to delete save data in a shared world if you are not the host?” 21siroreo brings up another argument: “It would’ve been better to keep everything you had in the first game and not keep things out.”
And then there’s the excitement. Take for example Arcadius (000Arcadius000), who cannot get enough: “Finished the content you guys put out so far… Looking forward to the game’s future.”
What does the future hold for Grounded 2? Nobody knows, but with 3 million players rushing around Brookhollow Park, it has to be big. Maybe it’s that fall update that cferg41 is asking about? Or…maybe…we finally get to hop on those bee backs.
Here’s one thing for sure: the community is there, bugs and all. And based on how the first game went, Grounded 2 is a recipe for even better times ahead.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to finish that grass hut before those wolf spiders get me.
