Blizzard basically threw the players a curve ball—a return of Mother’s Blessing with very heavy XP and gold boosts until the 12th of August. So, all right, time to grind this one. It’s basically free power-leveling.
Just as the Diablo community is, the reactions have been diverse. Some theaters are cheering; a few are salty; one or two are clamoring for solutions to long-standing problems. One even allegedly inquired if Blizzard had finally fed the hamsters that power the hardcore servers.
And that is where they discuss the XP grind. Some are complaining about how toiling for hours every single day to hit Paragon 300 is insane unless you are one of those who stream 20 hours a day; “Banana Sammich insane,” one said, and I think it was one hundred percent the right phrase to use. Others say the opposite—the whole point of the grind is what counts—they’re supposed to be a hardcore long-term goal, not some kind of parlor test you pass over a weekend.
Meanwhile, a healthy number of PS5 owners are still complaining about broken trade chat. “Any chance of fixing this? Been days!” an irritated gamer asked. One player would rather have double goblins brought back since the game apparently is “unplayable” without them now.
The event itself is really quite straightforward: XP up, gold up, agony down (maybe). But, extending the event is being requested by some, while others wonder why Blizzard even put these boosts in. “Is Diablo 4 for the attention-challenged TikTok generation?” asked an agitated player.
Yikes, good luck asking for a random Switch 2 port while at it.
This is Mother’s Blessing for a limited time, so whether you adore or hate it, this is the moment to finally raise that alt or farm for that perfect gear roll you’ve been holding off on. Gosh, the Diablo community will never be satisfied—the salt mines will forever be open.
And hey, maybe Blizzard really will surprise us all and get out some fixes before this event ends. Or maybe it’s just another XP event next month. Whichever way, happy grinding, Wanderers. Hell awaits.
