A newsletter swiftly went out from Blizzard about the wildest plays in Overwatch‘s Stadium mode, and now the gaming community is in turmoil. Referring to the official account of PlayOverwatch, the account made a montage of high-level plays, captioned, “These Heroes make it look so easy 😎,” and invited others to share their own clips with the hashtag #OWClipThis. And oh boy, what we have there is utter chaos, to the good.

For starters, the original clip was downright insane. This is Lucio wall ride stuff that probably breaks every law of physics in the book! Ashe headshots that would’ve made even McCree ashamed, and Mei walls with the cold efficiency of a supervillain on a strict mandate. How is anyone doing this?? Overwatch seems to have all the right moves for community engagement because soon, gamers started pouring into the replies with their own Stadium mode highlights.

But not everybody’s smiling. GRAVEILBAND lamented about being slapped with a 20-hour suspension for disconnecting at the start of a Stadium match. Ouch. There are more plays coming with Yakotakii and pweachydva pulling off their own absurd stuff: Full power headshots, resurrecting into elim with Mercy—the skill ceiling in this mode is absurd, and honestly? We’re here for it.

And that was just the adorable part. Mocha, a puppy VTuber (yes, that’s actually a thing) went crazy in the best possible way once they learned their Mei play was part of that official clip: “YAYAY IM IN THISSSSS” were the very first words coming out through the Twitter account from then on it was just hype from their friends. Even one of the players, Hendrick_OW, humbly added, “Never thought I’d be the headliner! I’m honored 🙏🏽.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be Overwatch Twitter without some… interesting takes. One user simply said, “Marvel rivals better,” which okay, sure. Another was DENOUNCING BLIZZARD IN ALL CAPS TO BRING BACK POST-GAME CHAT AND VOTING CARDS FROM OW1 WHILE MID-COM IN OW2, and yet another outright asked, “Mei can roll?”—buddy, if you’ve never laid eyes on a rolling Mei, you haven’t lived.

True MVP of that clip? All the player creativity on display-from diabolical Mei walls to Kitsune Rush-fueled team wipes, players are fast realizing that the real shenanigans go down in Stadium mode. Even the soundtrack piqued some interest: one person asked about the name of the track used in the clip (no answers yet, Blizzard: what’s the holdup?).

What comes next, then? More clips, more madness, and maybe a ton more begging for bug fixes (Ramattra mains, we’re looking at you). But what is sure is that the real hype-worthy, ridiculous plays in Overwatch go down in Stadium mode and these players don’t hold back.

Now excuse us as we quickly try a few of these and fail miserably. Worth it.
