Fresh new content drop, really putting players in conversation: the season’s exciting new skins, a surprise collab with Fortnite, and a much-celebrated character going back into the store. The update thus brings the Mira skin, the Oblivion emote (Fortnite x Grimes crossover), and Lara Croft anew to the shop. Through the web store if you purchase this though, you get an extra: Goldskull Peel Pack Back Bling. Nice not to say it.
Let’s start with the Mira skin that everyone must buy at 800 V-Bucks prices. But the name doesn’t sit well with everybody; some are scratching their heads, wondering why Epic just didn’t go with something a bit more… badass: “Shadowblade” or maybe “Neon Reaper?” But for 800 V-Bucks, I think we can all live with it.
Now, the Oblivion emote has players going drip frenzy-drip kind of frenzy. One comment says, “GRIMES X FORTNITE OMG!?!?!?”—that’s pretty much how hyped this collab is! This emote holds all of those futuristic and ethereal vibes that Grimes is known for and is currently a top favorite among those who just vibe with that aesthetic.”
And Lara Croft. Her return to the shop is what all Tomb Raider fans are holding their breath for. Whether you missed making her a part of your roster the first time or you want to rekindle some memories, this is the chance to do so.
How could updates not bring about more questions and ranciferous frustration? Fixes for last season’s Rank Cup glitch still hang in the air: Several players flat-out did not get the umbrella! Some wonder if they will get a do-over or if Epic Games is looking forward. Some want the return of the Terminator skin, while others are side-eyeing Epic for seemingly forgetting about the Summer Dummy and Clyde skins (Meanwhile, oddly enough, bots are still using them??).
Then there is the shop drama. Have the recent item shop rotations been mid, some players ask. Like, where’s the heat? Where’s the Naruto comeback everybody keeps hoping for? (Seriously, one player saw the new skin and thought Naruto was back—then there was heartbreak.)
Despite all this discussion, the update is full of energy that could keep anyone engaged. The Grimes collab is a giant splash, and Mira’s down-to-earth price is really hard to pass on. And Lara Croft? She always hits the mark.
If you look to spice up your locker a little, this is the time. And don’t forget to check out the web store for some extra backbling. So yeah, maybe someday keep an eye out for Terminator…
