That’s riotous, at least by Riot Game standards! The tweet simply read “pattern recognition test” and had an image of the Riot World Championship trophy. The entire League community exploded into excitement about whether the GOAT player was indeed the real deal, is Deft better than Uzi, and why everybody suddenly began talking about this Loopy character.
Let’s discuss Deft first. Over the years, much has been spoken of the legendary ADC, but the tweet has incited the war once again. Some players, like @Langera02, called him “the greatest of all time ADC,” while some affirmed @shoot_gorani, “Deft > Uzi” with absolute conviction. Then @Aris11tid fought “People will say he’s not because they started watching in 2019, Deft has been him for longer than they have been playing league,” right in the feels.
Loopy? Who is that? Apparently, there exists a whole operator #LoopyNation, with supporters like @Mon_Didou_ declaring, “Definitely the goat, Loopy,” while @edelrickk was yelling, “It’s LOOPY!” with a picture of…well, of something. Then, there are responses with Loopy tips, and honestly, we don’t know if this is a meme, an inside joke, or a real player; maybe all of the above. League memes go fast.
Because of course, there’s gotta be G2 banter as well. Everything started with @unrankedtoTim I’m saying about my region, we not winning shit,” with crying emojis, and G2 responded, “saw it up close in 2019 excuse you.” Right in the feels. @decksays, “Unrecognizable in NA. We just know the airport,” NA, are you okay?
Meanwhile, some folks took the “pattern recognition” thing literally. @Triumph_Games: “I’m seeing a pattern here…” and @graceycakesxox: “Me when I beat the computer on 50cc at Mario kart.” I’m so relating to this.
And @CJ_Guardian_ threw in a completely irrelevant FC Augsburg shout-out because… just because? League Twitter is bizarre.
So, what now? Riot’s tweet will either become best engagement bait ever or some weird flex that got the players fired up again to argue, meme, and hype their faves. One thing’s for sure: League fans will never run out of things to fight about, be it Team Deft, Team Uzi, or #LoopyNation.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, it’s time to go find Loopy before the next Twitter war hits.
