The update has just been released in the PC official DayZ servers. Reaction from the community offensive is the least one can say. The servers went down for almost an hour starting at 13:00 CEST; patch notes were out, but hardly anything joyful occurred within the community.

So, what happened? Some feel this is not an update; it is a rollback. @AGONYdayz simply put it: “Rolling back to 2 patches ago is not an update. This is the exact opposite of an update.” That sentiment waded through the rest. For instance, @glitchxst threw in a sarcastic “gg.” @MsKC1977 went berserk, accusing Bohemia about breaking the game every few months via patches that do nothing of fixing.

Then there is the duplication saga – a long-running exploit some players are claiming still does not get fixed. @Ukanolfckov wanted to offer them the lesson on how to dupe whilst saying they plan to keep spreading it until Bohemia finally fixes it. Eesh.

But wait, there is more to reveal. The console players also got their feelings hurt, with a great many asking about any console updates. @bigboss1986503 begged for a current-gen version on Xbox Series and PS5; in contrast, @brandanlang29 was straightforward: “Show some love to the ps5 and xbox players.”

And now for the weird stuff. @Echo_4609 joked that they wanted “Ligma” to be added in the next update (classic), while @gurthyfunkle69…well, let’s just say their comment was… unique.

There was some slight cheer in the backlash. @bantamgreg1 decided to lob a rare compliment, calling it “Keep up the great work,” and @dandandan2310 also seemed quite pleased in jest about the rollback, implying it meant less hand bugs.

So what does the update hold? Players were shared a patch note link, but some could not access the notes (@iviera_wind called it ironic, ironically, for a patch note to say, “you do not have permission to view this”). Others, like @JustADayZPlayer, were skeptical, suggesting the update would probably break mods once again.

In the meantime, @Mykee36 summed up the affairs with, “PC has gotten buggier than ever and consoles are just getting neglected as usual.” He dropped a link to a video titled “DayZ: This Is Your Glitchy Story,” which… yeah, that checks out.

At the end of the day, the servers are back up; the greater question, however, remains: When will Bohemia get around to taking care of the big issues which players truly care about? Duping, console neglect, and suspicious “updates” just keep piling up while the community has run out of patience.

At the moment, PC players get to jump in to see what has been changed-if at all. From the looks of things, this update is hardly the triumphant moment that Bohemia was hoping for.
