Techland has just dropped the violence-dependent hardcore promotions with a fresh look at Dying Light: The Beast. That one trailer displayed some dirt-nasty fighting moves, finishers more gruesome than one in Mortal Kombat. Now, the players are hyped—well, some are.
The official Dying Light account tweeted about “primal brutality” with a pre-order link, and the ensuing replies were one loud cacophony of extreme hype, skepticism, and pleas for a physical release; of course, gamers will be gamers.
Let’s delve into some of the good stuff said: Chase (@itzchaserr) described the gore as “Very immersive, if the hit reactions are on point then we are in for a wild ride.” In contrast, Paul (@Paul_096_) simply said, “The more gore the better,” and well, that is Dying Light. RockStation (@rockstationonx) excitedly counted down the days: “Absolutely can’t wait.”
Now here come all the grumbling.”Linus (@Unholydudy) ran off with the classic: “Not for that price I won’t.” Fair enough. Well, no price was mentioned in the tweet, but hey, skepticism is always healthy. One shared concern about censorship arises again: Some players, including BetterCallMauI (@BetterCallMauI), think it’s lame when games get toned down for “younger” audiences and declare that parents should, you know, parent.
Here comes the physical copy team, rampaged in full force. Several replies, including MR_SaBeR20 (@MrSaber20) and Marcus1284 (@Marcus12084), flatly said they wouldn’t buy it unless there’s a disk edition. Cello Andretti (@Cello_andretti) and PottedOddish (@PottedOddish) did inquire about pre-orders for a physical copy. Digital-only just won’t cut it for some, apparently.
But we can’t leave aside the practical queries—WHITE RYDAH (@WHITERYDAH) wants to know if it will remain playable after finishing the story, whereas leslieanna21 (@leslieanna21) is killing time inquiring about New Game Plus. Loco Lowg (@LocoLowg) now wishes to be impatient for specs. Priorities.
But the real concern? Blaz3Gam3r77 (@Blaz3Gam3r77)—and a few others—aren’t pleased, saying the gore looks the same as Dying Light 2, but with “more red blood.” (That hurt.) Whereas, henten (@henten101) just wants Techland to fix the PS5 version first. Can’t argue with that.
So yeah—Dying Light: The Beast seems to be set for a bloodbath in the good- (or bad-, depending on your stance) way. For those here for the destruction or still waiting for that disc edition, one thing is for certain: Techland has the populace talking. Now it’s just a matter of if the game lives up to the hype—or price tag.
Oh, one more line for those who enjoy chopping zombies into pieces in increasingly creative ways. You might want to track this one. Or not. Your call. Anyway, it’s going to mess up.
