Game for a monumental nostalgia pant! Tommy Oliver-The Green Ranger icon and all-time favorite of youngsters-is almost coming into Fortnite. Villagers exploded into excitement and speculation after renowned Fortnite leaker, @FN_Assist, spotted the confirmation.

This revelation opened an entire backlash of nostalgia and reactions from players that grew up watching the iconic 90’s series. Some have taken the opportunity to voice their hope that there will be other styles representing Tommy in his other Ranger forms, especially the White Ranger: “Hopefully he has an edit style for his time as the White Ranger,” said @Dobe46_streams, suggesting this is shared by many. Meanwhile, others are already declaring this their forever main skin; @nandarohapa added, “I legit may never wear another skin again.”

Coming to Fortnite so close to the recent passing of Jason David Frank, who portrayed the character of Tommy Oliver, hit hard for everybody. Edited: @Le28708 added: “This makes me cry knowing that the legendary JDF will be in the game…my family were fortunate enough to meet him a few months before his passing.” Many began sharing experiences of meeting Frank at conventions.

Speculation goes far beyond the skin itself. The potential for extra content is already being dreamed up by players. Most want a Dragonzord summoning emote with classic theme music; others are willing to cross their fingers for a “Morphin Time” emote. @mahphknawsum sums it up perfectly: ” I hope he’s got an emote that would play the music when he’s calling his dragonzord, that would be awesome.”

A few are still expressing some bitterness. Many noted that collaboration content should ideally not be tied behind a battle carry; instead, it should be sold in the item shop for everyone. @thatidiotk stated, “I apologize but collab items shouldn’t be in the battle pass,” adding that the skin “looks fire.”

Power Rangers discussions continue to veer toward other possible future additions with @BillEaster6 saying, “We better get the white ranger also,” and @MasonTheYoung taking this one step further: “Please let us have skins for every ranger.” Meanwhile, others have started to fit this into the bigger storyline of the season, hoping for Megazord back bling or some complementary Ranger-themed cosmetics.

Certainly, that would not be the first pop culture crossover steeped with nostalgia in Fortnite, yet this particular teaming-up strikes a chord with many players. TheSenorKent explains, “That’s my childhood here!” A great number of gaming collaborations simply miss this layer of emotional connection with the character that this partnership has, especially when paired with the recent loss of Jason David Frank.

While Epic Games has not yet officially verified most of all these details, the fanbase is slowly beginning to countdown to when they can finally suit up as their favorite Ranger. Be it just for nostalgia, gameplay possibilities, or simply a tribute to JDF, all signs point towards this being a Battle Pass season worth morphing for.
