What about this? Saint-14 is back, all-new Spread Shot Hand Cannon and all, for Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2. But rather than being truly hyped by its arrival, the community is, well… not exactly jumping for joy. Instead, the comment section is being oozed out with complaints concerning drop chances, matchmaking, and loot fairness. Yeah, it’s one of those days in Destiny-verse.

Very good to know in the beginning: The Hand Cannon looks to be a monster in performance. If one is into PvP, better get a Trials pass or Lighthouse pass from Saint-14 ASAP! The real criminals here are the backend processes to actually get the gun. And that’s when the real frustration begins. Players are basically telling stories of mad grind sessions with nothing to show for it. Oneguardian, @nakialove035, claimed to have played for four hours straight, hit the Lighthouse, and dropped hand cannon-less. “50 drops with 8 of them being weapons is not fair or cool,” they said. Ouch.

It’s not just the RNG, either-there’s scrutiny on the whole system. “@realThr3eD, I have gotten six scouts, five autos, and five machine guns—no hand cannons.” Meanwhile, @WarmachinV2 finished their flawless run at seven wins, and received… a memento that they can’t even use. “Why should I care to play Trials if I’m not getting rewarded?” Fair question.

Then we get into theories: @cshwrp is certain the game’s PvP is “rigged” through “engagement-based match-making,” and insists the matches are predetermined. Whether true or just salted, that feeling is spreading. Then @TitanUpforLife said as a joke that the drop rate has to be .00001 … after hundreds of runs and zero luck.

And bugs? Of course. @imqarw pointed out that the title’s gilding medals aren’t counting, while @Shifty_Effect calls out Bungie for the Guardian Rank locks. Plus @maVer1ck82 spotted that Dead Messenger is disabled again. Henceforth, it’s less Trials of Osiris and more Trials of Patience.

Shall we summon a verdict? New Hand Cannon is cool. The grind is hellish. The loot is stingy. Players are pissed. Will Bungie give this setup some thought and maybe do something? Could be. Right now, if you’re going into Trials, hold on to your hats-bumpy ride ahead. And, if you manage to land that Hand Cannon after your first drop, maybe just keep it to yourself-a little bird told me the rest of us are still grinding.
