A Diablo IV patch, 2.3.2, from Blizzard, has become a quite controversial topic. With an ominous promise through the official Diablo Twitter account, “Arm yourself, Wanderer,” people tried to dig deep into what had been incorporated and then omitted.
Starting with the most important: The patch notes are far from being controversial. There are plenty of people now questioning if they really need to log into the game even. FunkTion29 set it down in cement: “New class? Reason to login?” Spoiler alert: No and… probably not, unless you’re really into minor tweaks.
To the statue controversy. Plenty of voices are coming out to say that the key statue in Kyovashad cannot even be seen. CrimsonR3ign expressed full rage and threatened to delete his Blizzard account over this, calling the devs “tone deaf af” and comparing them to Call of Duty monetization. Yikes.
There were, of course, some who were not angered by this situation. CurtThe_Gamer entered the mess to kickstart quite the flaming discussion by proclaiming Season 9 as “best season so far.” GamingKarmig fired back with “Loot reborn was the best,” and Diablo fans will never be united.
Do we have Others who complain? Plenty. Vylnation cannot locate the goblin vendor for the rewards; madthinus hadda say the console traversal is still a mess post-patch; Gergoool is begging for a loot filter (Seriously, how is this even not a thing yet?); and MLoganx87 summarized it perfectly, “Sooo… whats new? Oh yeah… nothing :).”
On the other hand, eclipso23 and the likes have just thrown in the towel. They skipped Season 9 altogether and do not even miss it, hoping that Blizzard will come around to fix the core issues one day. And we cannot forget Jimbobway4, who is still waiting for Diablo 2 news as if it were 2001.
In other words, what do you do with the patch 2.3.2? It gives a… meh feeling. Some players enjoy the season; others rage over the missing features, while a few are done.” Will Blizzard finally get to fixing those? Hell if I know, but Diablo fans? They are going to keep yelling.
In the meantime, if any of you somehow finds something in common with getting logged in, keep your expectations realistic. Or else, there are lots of other games to go do until the next significant update-a gig is well deserved. Your call, Wanderer.
