Bungie has just unleashed an enormous drip in Destiny 2. And the best part? It doesn’t cost a single bright dust. Players are running mad for what may become the best free armor in the game right now: the Samurai Hunter armor set. Did we say free? It requires no silver, no expansion packs, nothing elaborate; just stellar samurai swag to be grabbed.
Ever since content producer KrypzYT revealed a sneak peek of the armor in his video, it has been making waves. In other words: pure hype. Players cannot even whomp for every detail, from the layered plates to the sinister helmet straight from a Kurosawa flick. “Best armor in Destiny 2?” One player asked, and honestly, it may be.
So how do you get it? Good question. According to the replies: the Bushido set drops from pinnacle missions. So that’s a bit of a grind, I suppose, but hey, fashion hurts! Jamie (@sc0nesandc0ffee) is already showing off the set, sharing a screenshot of his Guardian looking like a space-faring ronin. Others, like Mari (@Kanamaisteri), are still trying to figure out how to even start the grind, screaming into the void with “HOW WHERE CAN I GET” energy.
Some of the dissenters aren’t buying it. A handful, including @Soviet_Gobul, claimed that Destiny 2 was a dead game. But really, if such an armor falls into freebie territory, the game definitely has at least some pulse left in it. And then there is @philipe89, who says he is returning only after Star Wars content drops. Respectful point, but… dude is missing out.
But those symmetrical Hunter gauntlets are the real show-stoppers. For years, Hunters have had to suffer through lopsided armor designs; finally, the Bushido answers the call for delicate symmetry. @OGBruhMoment input his feelings with a single tear emoji. It’s all in the little things, Guardians.
Of course, any Destiny drop would be incomplete without some good old FOMO. @keith_a_photo pointed out that one of the best shaders for the set is not available yet. Typical Bungie: give us an amazing armor set, then make the best color a time-gated paywall. But the set base indeed looks good enough to stand on its own.
How do we score this? If you’ve been sleeping on Destiny 2, this might be what drags you back. Free, stylish, with tons of samurai aesthetic? Yup, worth the download. Do not blame us, however, when you are up at 3 a.m. grinding pinnacles for that helmet.
