The new batch of skins introduced for VALORANT, Rupture, still gets the majority of negative reviews by players. The official Riot Games tweeted the set, captioning it: “watch your enemies break” to receive a barrage of insults, memes, and outright condemnations from the responses.

There goes the criticism for the skins even: they were compared by players to a botched Spike defuse. Numerous players stated the designs were “battle pass quality,” with some joking that they wouldn’t even consider picking them up if they were given for free. One outright declaration by @opiumomen said he would walk past the Rupture Bulldog if he already had a Phaseguard Ghost. Ouch. Then there are those extra mean ones like @iaketano_YT: “Looks like my little brother spent 30 minutes making this bundle.” Yikes.

Next comes the contrary of aesthetics: the Chinese populace feels especially aggravated because since Riot rarely lets older skin sets on sale in their region but always does for new sets worldwide. An angry fan tweeted; “Every time you launch a new set, the Chinese server planner will delay the return of the old set, which makes us very unhappy.” And honestly? Fair. If you are releasing new stuff, make sure that all regions are caught up first.

Moving on to pricing, they are tired of overpriced bundles that Rupture will certainly not be worth for anyone to change their minds. @Pringzles02 suggested Riot would make more dosh by returning old fan-favorite skins rather than pushing ugly new ones. And @stikkybtw brought in the Radianite system because, naturally, no one is happy about grinding (or paying) for upgrades.

Some of the responses became downright comedic. @LucyValr twisted the original tagline into “Watch your aim break,” whereas @TheKingLinguin went full scorched earth: “Fire your whole team bruh, wtf is this 😭 just shit after shit you guys push out.” Harsh? Maybe. But when the community’s this united in disappointment, maybe Riot should take notes.

To mention the technical side of complaints, one player, @talahriyacine relates a ranked bug wherein they couldn’t see Clove (the newest agent) in matches and losing RR. Others begged for bug fixes before more cosmetics. Priorities, people.

The verdict? Rupture might sound beautiful but quite obviously, the players never really felt it-in design, nor in timing. Whatever the case, with so much backlash, it would be interesting to see if Riot ever tunes any future bundles based on feedback. Or just carry on cashing checks and we all are coping for now. Yay! Shop is open, wallets are mostly shut.
