Another day dawned over dismayed Fortnite players, who woke up to no new Icon emote in the shop yet again. Consolation was that the cat burglar had just come back once more-for the third or fourth time. This drop was courtesy of the biggest Fortnite leaker, ShiinaBR, who also put forth a purchase link. Reactions were… mixed.
What is the situation? ShiinaBR confirmed via Twitter that as much as no new dance or gesture emote had come in the item shop tonight, Catwoman was back for what felt like a third or fourth time. She also dropped the link to the skins with a cheeky support reminder utilizing the code-Shiina. Those in the lobby were far from happy, however.
The comment thread ranged from partly venting and meme-making to utter confusion. Disappointed in all subtlety, one player with the handle @The_Joker3000kr declared: “Fk Catwoman ass skin they bring it back like every month just ass.” Ouch. Some, there are others, held some degree of optimism—@BatOfFortnite stated, “DC Skin that @Fortnite Universe has been waiting for.” But real talk, though-much of the player base was just wanting new stuff.
It was a bad day for Catwoman to get all the blame. Players wasted no time putting forth names for skin favorites that were still absent: @TheCurseslayer2 said, “The only st I’m missing is Leon Kennedy,” to which @Eclipse92891 responded with, “Still no T800.” @Freddy1565 couldn’t hold it anymore: “CLYDE ISN’T HERE EITHER 😭.” Just saying-the disappointment really was there.
This recession spawned hilarious conspiracies accusing @BVivz73194 and his cronies of conspiring to control the shop: “@EpicGhosty controls the shop. I think he needs to step down, these shops are TERRIBLE!” Whether it’s true or not, something is very clear-the Fortnite item shop has been set back for a while from some branching clubs.
Well, not everyone was mad about it. Some, including @FaZeJensen, were just glad to see that Griddy was back, and @soggysnowball reminisced about their purchases and said, “Fk I’m so glad I got ash bc he’s honestly one of my favorite additions.” So, silver lining?
Bottom line, the Fortnite item shop has always been a hot-button topic. Some are just so tired of seeing the same skins being added to the item shop time and time again, and others are still waiting for their most-wanted collaborations. Will Epic even hear them? Who knows. But now Catwoman is back, and nothing’s gonna stop her.
