In the Item Shop, Mister Terrific and The Engineer made their explosive debut while Fortnite players were awaiting some new DC Comics Heat. One could say leakers such as ShiinaBR tried to give every ounce of attention possible to these skins; however, the community took some serious debating.
It was the first thing spotted. The pickaxe with which The Engineer was supposed to come was missing. Players, including @Daltonisnotme, said, “They forgot her pickaxe! They should give us it for free if we have the skin and back bling imo.” Then came the next bit of confusion: @extrajoshmills asked, “Is the Engineer not getting a bundle? I thought she had a pickaxe too??”
Quite fortunate in the wake of the DC movie premiere, Mister Terrific is soaking up the glory. “@MightyMumu tweeted: ‘Just watched the movie and after seeing it I need Mr. Terrific in my locker right now.'” This echoed what many players who watched the movie felt. Too-tired-for-glory-loans-wanted by many, says @IronAidanD though: “I got him briefly but refunded…he’s so cool in the movie but I would’ve liked a glider/wrap or something.”
The choice of the characters itself began being questioned. “@Bakubro204 asked, ‘why they picked the engineer over hawkgirl,'” while others like @clark_kent34450 vehemently responded, “So fucking ugly I hate these two ugly fucking characters they could have gave us Lois Lane.” Yikes dude, tell us how you really feel.
There are those who praise the characters by saying that they saved their V-Bucks, while @myybiscuit simply said, “My Vbucks are safe.” @GrkynX backhandedly told the other player, “Thank god u lucky and not going to buy a trash.” Meanwhile, @LegendaryAtom21 cried out for help, “FUCK of course im 400 off from mister terrific 😭” — memory lane, my friend.
The missing content opened doors for some to speculate about future drops. @dM00N8914 jinxed about “Krypto as a companion,” and @TurciosGer47635 hopes “they add peacemaker for season 2.” Plus, of course, you never want to forget those creative code warriors like @lolbrandon_ grabbing all that creator support.
The DC drops certainly interface with the Fortnite community. Some of the players are purchasing the skins immediately (@Soulbound_TV: “That ‘Add to Cart’ button never stood a chance”), while others are waiting for these freebies to get straightened out. There has not been an official statement from Epic concerning this situation with the bundles, but judging by how players are reacting, it might just be time to put one out.
Well for sure… love ’em or hate ’em, the talk of the town. Excuse me, I have to head to one of the local theaters to watch the DC movie before I can determine if Mister Terrific really earns his paycheck in V-Bucks. Oh, those cape physics are just stellar…
