Surprise! Astro Bot game has been updated, and folks cannot get over the insane new Vicious Void Galaxy levels. Five new stages went live today, allowing the players to go on a hectic space adventure with their cute little robot. The announcement tweet from PlayStation implications has left social media in shock as some players jumped into the content immediately to others begging for PC ports and expansions.
Deep space madness ensues in the Vicious Void Galaxy-based setting for the new levels, agitating for wild platforming challenges that would test the new-age DualSense controller another step further. The early bird five allegations went already to stage five with the description “INCREDIBLE” by the famous Twitter user @alecsdrake, while @OnlyStoneys started collecting all the new bots hidden in these stages. This free update follows strongly with Team Asobi supporting what is sometimes called one of the best platformers for PlayStation in years.
If cosmic levels are stellar, then there are those that do not seem to agree. Players like @SpiderJesusBR are asking for calm and fun levels in exchange for intense challenges, while @paradoXplozionz is itching to know if chillout zones are coming soon. The debate might wake faster than a PS5 with clogged vents- ironically, it entered the discussion when @ronald_mil36505 expressed complaints of Trump’s overheating during gameplay, asking the community for tips on cleaning it.
PC gamers are eyeballing with extreme jealousy, with multiple replies where @OyasumiBastet demanded the game to be released on Steam. The love for Astro Bot is so deep that @Rashomon20s actually referred to the little bot as “adorable” when pleading for a PC port. Meanwhile, @SeventhScholar seems to have had the bright idea for an Astro Kart racing spin-off because, realistically, those controller gimmicks would be wild competition for Mario Kart.
Update timing couldn’t be more perfect for trophy hunters. @SmokeDangCP: “that one level” would be the last level to complete for 100% now has five reasons to keep playing. And even speedrunners outside are ready for at least one of these levels, with @SSJDavey tagging at least one known speedrunner about “new record tonnes”. @AllThatRumpus threw some hot-blooded console-wars style debate with the phrase “Xbox better” but was soon ratio’d into oblivion.
Crazy thing is, @cfrye23 literally manifested this update with yesterday’s thoughts of wanting more Astro levels. Should we all now go full force visualizing free DLC for our fave games? Cosmic alignment worked this time at least. With players already beating much of the new content (shout out to @Benjaman2003 with the speedy completion), the big question may be whether Team Asobi has even more surprises saved for the game’s anniversary this September. @dominexna seems certain that celebratory levels should be coming, and honestly, after today’s update, I’d lay a wager on it!
This deluge of Astro Bot love is surely setting a precedent which tight platforming with great controller integration never goes out of fashion. Either way, whether you’re getting sucked into the Vicious Void today or waiting for that elusive PC port, one thing’s clear: these little robots are no way near done with their galactic adventure. Now if we would be excused for a moment, that would be us going out there to rescue a whole bunch of new bots and rage quitting through tons of new levels. Life’s suffering- thanks for free agony, Sony!
